I have some Winchester 9mm NATO 124 gr FMJ (white box, black lettering). I also have some Winchester Ranger 9mm NATO 124 gr FMJ (in the usual Ranger box marked as Law Enforcement Ammunition). Is there any significant difference? Is there any price differential?

If it’s got the NATO cross in a circle on the rim…it’s definitely NATO spec which should mean it’s loaded pretty stiff with NATO spec brass and a sealed primer.

If it doesn’t have the cross in a circle on the rim…it may still be loaded to NATO specs but not necessarily.

Price difference? I would law enforcement ammo might be more expensive as it’s accuracy standards may be higher.

Very likely the same ammo with just different packaging to appeal to a larger market.

If the case head is stamped with the NATO cross within a circle, it will be hotter ammo, about 5% over the pressure of standard 124 grain 9mm ammo.

Most company's will charge more for ammo with more fps over the "Standard" stuff.

NATO and +P usually cost more for the 5-10% increase, but...........

only a chrono, will tell you if you got , what you paid for.

Ammunition marked as Law Enforcement always costs more than the same thing in a plain box. People eagerly pay more for LEO and boutique brands. Three generations of blindly following Gun Writers will do that.

Winchester does that a lot. Same ammo in different boxes, and sometimes with different Winchester branding. Their USA Valor series appears to be the same ammo as their red and white boxes and brown cardboard boxes. Federal does the same thing.
