My dealer bought an estate that had this. Couldn't resist buying it. Seems like I've seen it before, but can't remember much. Anyone educate me on what, when, why, and if there is a collector's value on it. Boxes are full and in decent shape.

When: those are 1960-1968 or so boxes.
If they have a child warning on the top they
are 62-68, if not they are 60-62.

I personally think they are collectible since they are full boxes and are in nice shape.
You dont see this stuff that often.
 
I've got a box of the .357, same as yours. I've been tempted to shoot it but figured what the heck, it might be worth something some day. Last box I saw sell online was the older version, (maybe a blue and white box) but the same ammo and it went for $100 + S/H.
 
Collectable ammo that will bring high $$$ from the right buyer.
Originally designed for LE to be able to shoot through car bodies and the like. IIRC it didn't really work much better than standard loads, at least not in .357 magnum.

When working security in college, my partner and I had access to abandoned buildings on one of our outlying sites. They were scheduled to be torn down, and we went out for target practice on a Saturday, We had trouble shooting the electrical junction box, and I loaded one of these in my .357. It went through the box and blew a hole in the cinder block wall into the structure. I was impressed (although that's really not saying much)!
 
I remember those,they were fun to shoot,wished I'd kept them.
