Thank you for that valuable feedback, random stranger who's never posted on this forum before. Clearly we've all been mistaken about Lawman Leather Goods and their focus on taking customers' money without ever delivering the promised holster.

Based on this sole positive customer testimonial, I'll be sure to place another order immediately.

It's been clearly established that far more people have been screwed by Jerry Ardolino & Lawman than have received anything for their money. One random new poster's "positive" experience does not undo the lengthy trail of criminal conduct and unethical/unsavory consumer dealings perpetrated by Ardolino and his family business.

I also find it odd that the support for Lawman comes from a lone poster who has "mountain" in his forum name, similar to the lone poster offering support to Tyler in the "Tyler T Grip Company Shutdown" thread. Perhaps merely a coincidence.

Less than 24 hours after sending my e-mail yesterday to Mr. Ardolino through his website, I received a call from him this morning.

First, I do not think that Mr. Ardolino owes me anything legally for what happened 30 years ago, but was curious as to just what sort of integrity he has and how he felt about what happened to the customers who did not get what they ordered back then.

The conversation covered a lot of what we have already heard about everything Ardolino and then some, but I did learn a few things I did not know. In any event, bottom line was that Mr. Ardolino volunteered and I agreed on a plan to make up for what happened in my case, at no risk to me, which he did not have to do.

I just want to be fair, and if it works out as promised I will do a follow up post. At this point, I at least appreciate that Mr. Ardolino took the time to call me about something which happened 30 years ago.

I was impressed with the appearance and design of the Dirty Harry shoulder holster many years ago, and even though I have evolved through many other holsters since then and now prefer belt carry for my norm I would still like to try one for field use on occassion with my magnum revolvers.

I'll keep you posted.

Almost a year has passed and not another word from Jerry Ardolino following up on more of his empty promises, and of course no Dirty Harry holster.

When Jerry Ardolino called me last year, he offerred to provide me a holster for a reduced price. Naturally, he wanted me to send more money which I declined to do as I had already trusted him once and not received what I paid for, but it was agreed that he would send me a holster C.O.D.

I would be embarrassed to use a new Dirty Harry Holster from Ardolino at this point after so many have not received what they paid for, or risk the appearance of endorsing anything to do with the Ardolino's or their monkey business.

I can live without Ardolino, his much touted and seldom delivered holsters, as well as his unethical if not illegal scams, so as far as I am concerned they are all a bad dream.

I agree something smells fishy. These positive post also come from people with no public information. Sadly we live in a world where most fraud cases are not investigated unless the loss is $500.00 or more.

I think we need to establish scum bag warning section to prevent other members from lossing money. So far we have Tyler, Lawman and I forgot the third.

If you watch the auction sites Dirty Harry holsters come up every once in awhile. The big auction site has a Lawman Leather on auction right now.

Something else to consider while watching the auction sites is that you can pick up Dirty Harry holsters from other makers and in the correct style as used in the movie. Even though Lawman Leather says their holster is the "Original" Dirty Harry holster it is not an exact copy of what was used by Harry Callahan. His holster had a narrow belt strap while LL has a wider "cobra head" strap. The holster in the movie also had a tension screw which the LL holster does not have.

Also, in the movie "Sudden Impact", Harry Callahan isn't using a Dirty Harry holster but a Bianchi X2000 or X2100. Check the scene where Harry is showing the 44 Auto Mag to Horace. So, you could get a X2100, a very fine holster, and still have a holster like Dirty Harry used.

Default Auction site LLG 296

Yes, if you want a Lawman Leather Goods Dirty Harry Holster the only sure way to get one is to buy from a current owner of one. There are 2 model 296's on the big auction site now - one looks brand new.

Default Nearly 2 Years and Nothing

I'm glad someone gets fast service. Ordered mine almost two years ago and all I have is squat. I've heard every excuse except "It's Bush's fault." That one will probably be next.

Thumbs down Possible Internet Fraud

I am a retired LEO. I have been ripped off by these disreputable perps. I have been waiting for one year and three months for my pre-paid holster order. Emails and calls go unanswered and when I managed to reach someone; just the same old pack of lies. I filed a complaint with the Las Vegas BBB and am considering contacting the FBI as their activities smack of interstate fraud. I urge all of you in the same boat as myself to do the same. Maybe we can put a stop to these guys before they scam any more people!

I just spoke with Jimmy at Lawman Leather. At a couple minutes before 5 pm LV time, Jimmy not only answered the phone but we spoke for a good 5 minutes. I ordered my Dirty Harry holster the last week of January 2011. I was told 34 - 36 weeks then and I was told the same today, nothing has changed, and I have only about 5 more weeks to wait. And from the other holsters out there I have seen it will be well worth the wait! If you are willing to wait you can own the best. Don't have the patience, buy the imitation...... Come back with your second post with pictures if and when it is delivered, and consider yourself a lucky exception to the experience the majority of us here have had if what you got is all of what you expected.

My Dad ordered a holster from them once and had it in 6 weeks, but they were using dinosaur hides at the time.

In 5 weeks send us pictures. I've been waiting since Nov 2009! I've spoken with Jerry and Jimmy several times over the past year and half, after my original delivery date passed. Still don't have my holster. My guess is that in about 5 weeks, when your holster doesn't arrive, you'll call and start on the same road as the rest of us.

Yeah, first post and it's drivel about how good Lawman Leather is. Just how long are customers supposed to wait to "own the best"? The best what? Imaginary holster?

Default It was the same years ago

Wow, I guess some things never change. I ordered a "Dirty Harry" holster from Lawman Leather years ago during the Dirty Harry Movie popularity for a 6" Python. I waited for months, and got every excuse in the book. Mostly the excuses ran towards the popularity of the holster due to the movie.
I have always liked the holster, and my 6" 29 fits it perfect too, but after reading this thread I don't think that I will ever look at it the same again.
It is a shame regarding these terrible business practices. The holster deserves better. BTW: Having one - I CAN say that it is a fine holster, BUT I would not wait that long for one today, or pay that much for it.

Maybe, or maybe they are just taking customer money at their new web site?

Steelboy Magnum Holsters

Same stuff, same family, different name. Why was that necessary?

Heh. He should change his name to "StealBoy." It would be far more accurate.

As for the new website address, it only makes sense. I'm sure it behooves any crook to change his costume now and then.

Well, I don't have a dog in this fight, and I probably wasn't going to order one of these holsters anyway, but after reading the web page, I'm definitely convinced to stay away.

"The kind with Big Steel Wheels or Long Squared-off Machined Slabs of metal over precision GUN BARRELS that get Hot and Spew out lead at tremendous speeds."

Ridiculous.

Angry More Nothing From Them

I make a regular call, about every 2 months, have been for the past two years. It's a waste of calories. I have no doubt I have been defrauded out of nearly $300. It was an expensive lesson, that I didn't do my "do diligence" before I placed the order. I suspect their website changed as a way of evading unhappy customers - or maybe they didn't pay their web-hosting company's bill? Makes no difference. Samo-samo and anyone ordering from them will get the samo-samo, NOTHING but excuses and frustration!

Well, we're waiting for pictures of the holster. Did it arrive as promised? When you call and speak with Jimmy again, let us know what his excuses are this time. If you check back through the thread, you'll find a "stock" listing of about 12 they recycle.

Has anyone filed a small claims suit? I would think you could file in your home town and at least get a judgement.

I don't know how your state works, but where's I'm at it costs $50 to file a small-claims lawsuit.

Even when you got your judgement, it wouldn't be worth the paper it was written on. You're assuming SteelBoy/ Ardolino /Lawman Leather Goods has any assets worth going after.

While I'm sure it would be satisfying on some level, you'd probably just be throwing (even more) good money after bad.

All states have laws concerning fraud. The mails were used, (Postal Service), The Internet used, (Secret Service), National magazine ads to procure business, so Interstate Commerce was involved. (Federal Trade Commission).

In addition to possible criminal prosecution, some states also have consumer protection laws and possible civil prosecution by the state's attorney general's office.

Not sure what Nevada has, but might be worth looking into for some with recent complaints to see if there is a procedure you might be able to use which could save some expense.

If only I had known. I found this site while looking on the internet for possible news that Lawman Leather might have gone out of business. Having seen the promotion from either Guns and Ammo or American Rifleman (can't remember which I saw the promo) I decided to call Lawman Leather to order a holster. I have had my 629 for years and had not really seen a holster or purchased anything I was thrilled about. This holster looked very impressive. I called and spoke to a guy who told me it was a long lead time but considering that the magazine was one of the two listed above, ones I had been reading for many many years I figured they would not steer me wrong, I ordered the DH. This was on 23 Jan. 2011. At first I was concerned since I am a Reservist in the Navy and was scheduled to Mobilize 5 Nov. 2011 (since canceled and rescheduled for Nov. 2012). Not having thought about the holster for a time I came across my receipt. So I began calling to find out what's the story.

The web site is still up. Several of the phone numbers are no longer in service.

877-445-2962 no longer in service
702-576-3906 Recorded message - unable to leave message mailbox full, also directs you to a fax number:
Fax 702-227-0036, no longer in service

On their "Orders and Pricing" page there is another number
702-227-0072, not in service at this time.

Just this minute I called the 702-588-9583 number someone on this thread posted, and there was a poor quality recorded message that said, "This is Jim, leave a message." So I did. We shall see.

It happened to quite a few others here as well--myself included. But it really fries me to see it happen to a service member. The Ardolino family should be ashamed of themselves, as should the shooting magazine who aid them in their fraud.

Had I seen this thread before I ordered, of course, I would not have made the purchase. But, sadly, after the fact, I found this place. Oh, I'm staying in the Service. 17 years now, and counting. I'll do 20, or more, if needed. The Navy canceled my MOB, not me. I was packed and ready to go. Budget cuts, don'tcha know. I am on the list to MOB next November.

Unfortunately you'll have to wait until the eta for order fulfillment comes up before you can go speak to the JAG office to get them involved in recovering your money.

Default DH Holster

I ordered a DH from LLG on Oct. 12, 2010 with an expected delivery date of May 2011. I placed the order with someone puporting to be Jerry Ardolino. Seemed pleasant. But he did spend a lot of time on the phone with me whose factory was so backed up. Anyway, called once and got excuses. Was trying to call today and the phone number went to an hispanic sounding lady who can't hear very well. So, doing an internet search, I came across Wild Guns Leather Co. of Texas. Same kind of bs up front as was on the LLG site. Seems that LLG is not allowed to sell anymore DH holsters and only fill existing orders. Has anybody else seen or heard of this? Anybody out there live in Yoakum, TX? And also, if anyone has a working phone number or email address for LLG I would appreciate it.

From the Wild Guns Leather Co. of Texas website narrative it looks like Jerry must have had a falling out with his son Jimmy "Steel Boy" Ardolino since he was the heir apparent to Lawman Leather.

Problem is that it was Jerry who took orders and made promises to customers which were not kept long before he tossed it to Jimmy a few months back. Guess Jerry cannot fire himself, or at least cannot outrun the bad rap Lawman Leather has earned itself under that name. The only hope is that potential buyers will do their homework on the Dirty Harry Holster and avoid what others have experienced trying to do business with Jerry Ardolino. Here's mine:

I'm just wondering who ran who out of town. Probably the incessant ring of the phone and the increasing and louder knocks on the door told them it was time to get out of Dodge. They are just going to take up business somewhere else conducting the same business, as usual, looking to separate money from unsuspecting droolers (me included) with those enticing publicity shots of one of the coolest holster designs on the planet. Even though I finally got my holster (after about a year), it was a ridiculous experience no one should have to go through as a buying customer. I wish I had it all on tape. Just incredible. That they had to come to Texas, of all places, kind of frosts me.

Ordering over the internet. I sell through some online sites but I think the best way is to order by credit card then you can dispute the charge. Also do your homework before you just order something. Check out the company. Look them up on the BBB and use their phone number when looking the company up, complaints about______ then the item or company, reviews of _______, and now there is even website reviews like "websitereview.com" on line. Do this before you order the item. Many companies will change their name constantly after they have made a bad reputation for themselves.

Good idea, and another red flag when a seller only accepts checks and money orders, in advance as has been and still is the Ardolino Dirty Harry holster method.

I just posted this on another thread before I saw this one but I'll post it again but after reading some other posts looks like i'm in the same boat.

I ordered a holster from these guys around april/may of 2010..well i received the holster 4 months latter..ok fine. but what do you know..no speed loader pouch as i had ordered. So i called and was told we will send you a free one plus the one you ordered..sweet. Didn't happen. So I called back and got "well the leather we got in was wrong/poor quality" and said it would be a few more weeks. Reasonable enough I suppose. Well now its been five months and when I try to call the phone numbers on their website they are disconnected. Luckily I did get my holster but they took me for 40 dollars for the speed loader pouch. Don't buy anything from these guys. They are full of excuses and are pathedic in their business practices.

Exclamation Live Internet Radio Show For All smith-wessonforum Members re: Lawman Leather:

Here is the link to the Internet Radio show hosted by Lt. Raymond Foster, LAPD, Retired, that will air on Dec. 2, 2011 at 7:00 PM Pacific. According to the tagline, Jerry Ardolino, the private, former licensor of product manufacture to Lawman Leather Corporation of Nevada, will dispel myths, give real facts and address the rumors and personal insults, by members of smith-wesson forum. It is titled:"you-can't-tap-and-run-away." I've been following this thread and, this sounds interesting! I've visited the link below and it has a more detailed format of what the show will entail. Live telephone call-ins will be accepted. Here is the Internet address link to this live Internet Radio show:

Just reading that write up he's already setting himself up for a hostile call in crowd. Seems to me that if he's trying to rebuild his reputation he'd be taking a softer stance. But I guess if your guilty of fraud and you have a law enforcement background you take the politician's stance of deny, deny vehemently then deny while trying to deflect the blame then resort to name calling. Oh wait, it seems as though he's already done all of that in the write up.
