Default Galco speedmaster question

I picked up a speedmaster holster for a m19 2 1/2" about a year ago. I haven't used it much because I was/am concerned with the lack of retention with the holster. Can anyone with a similar holster for a revolver or maybe a semi, that can confirm that my holster is normal? It seems it's just two pieces of leather sewn together and molded but with little to no retention, even when a belt is tightened. It's definitely not a hard molded custom holster but I would have thought it would have more retention than it does. Thanks.

John

It is a concealment holster and the name Speedmaster leads me to believe it is faster to draw from than, say, a retention holster like a Serpa or something along the lines of a thumb break. I just ordered a Galco CCP for my HK. It is a concealment holster also. I'll let you know when I get it.

I have been wearing my 66 2-1/2 in a Galco Speedmaster for the past 6 years. I wear it alot and it has never given me any problems with retention. I have run with it and the gun doesn't move. I wouldn't be concerned.
