I agree, but, there are some circumstances in which it's not possible to conceal a gun on one's person, but in which it is desirable to have a gun discreetly at hand, and devices such as this "planner" are useful, but as has been said, assiduous care must be taken to keep the gun under your constant control.
Ken, I think it will do splendidly for your purposes, just as the briefcase does mine.
A bit insulting, by some, to think we would forget our guns, regardless of what they are carried in or that we would set it down and walk away from it, etc -but, I guess there might be people that stupid. So... keep your eyes open, be situationally aware, and don't forget your gun!![]()

I've never used one of those but I've used a paper sack.![]()

To the OP, are you trying to secure the gun in the car or do you want it available for use while you are in the car? If you are trying to secure it then you might look into a locking box made to secure handguns in a vehicle. If you want the gun available for use then having it inside a planner in the center console is going to make it slow to get to. If there is no other way you can discreetly transport the gun from your car into a building, then I would say the planner or other container is better than not having a gun at all or leaving it in the car, but have you considered a j-frame snubby in a pocket holster or possibly adjusting your clothing to conceal your gun? I'm not sure what you wear or why concealment is a problem for you, so just trying to throw out some ideas.
Not trying to insult anyone, just stating that I don't use anything that can be separated from me to carry a gun.
