Hello. I have conceal carried a Taurus snob nose .38 for 3 years now. I decided to get a second firearm - something with a longer barrel - and decided to go with the Smith and Wessen SD40 VE budget pistol.
I'm learning a lot about my pistol. The only concern that I have is racking the slide vs releasing the slide lock.
When I rack the slide slowly it always jams the round. I have to clear the weapon and either rack the slide rapidly or have the slide locked then release the slide lock when the magazine is in place to successfully chamber a round.
Is it normal for this pistol?
Also I am looking into holster options. Amazon.com doesn't have many OWB holsters for my pistol.
Not a good idea to ride the slide into battery by keeping your hand on it. Either release the slide lock and let the slide go or release the slide lock while holding the slide all the way back, then just let it go.
