Anyone have experience front-pocket carrying a two-inch J-frame in this holster, either the horsehide or cowhide version? How effective is it in holding the gun in the same position all the time, given variations in pocket shape?

I've carried my 640 .38 Special in the Uncle Mike's pocket holster for years, and they're a great buy, but I've been looking at the Galco on line and am curious about it based on their reputation for quality gear.

I have a Galco horsehide pocket holster for a Springfield XDs. It works extremely well. The two-piece construction lies very flat in the pocket, and stays perfectly oriented. It is constructed smooth side in, and the pistol comes free every time without the holster following. I highly recommend it.

Thanks, guys. Decisions, decisions...

I've been satisfied with the Uncle Mike's for a long time, but have wondered if something else might be more consistent at orienting the gun in a pocket.

Blackhawk has a pocket holster (#4) that carries a J frame very nicely in the pocket.

The sticky out side stays put when drawn from the pocket.

About $14.00.

I bought one for my LCR.

I have the Galco for my 442 but prefer the Uncle Mikes. Both work well in front pocket carry.

I agree with one poster above, the Stoner Pocket holster, or one of its siblings (for whatever reason, more money) by Don Hume or Pocket Concealment Systems...

Thanks, guys. I posed this question on a couple of other sites, and came up with more recommendations for the Nemesis. I ordered one today, on the theory that if I don't like it I can try the Galco or a Mika.

I appreciate the answers. Folks here are nearly always helpful.

You won't regret the Nemesis. I have two that I use exclusively for pocket carry in warmer weather: one for J-frame snub and one for BG380.

I got one, cause the store had one. It is ok, especially for $20. A formed hoslter may be more form fiting and fit in the pocket better.

I like to pocket carry, mostly jackets. I find a J frame hard to fit in my pants. Maybe in the summer when I have cammo or cargo pants on. I then put my wallet in the side pocket.

My LCP was good for this, but it jammed to many times, so I bought a J frame.
