So, I'm looking at some ankle holsters. I've narrowed it down to these two. What do you guys think? I like the look of the Cozy Partner, but I'm not sure what model to get for my 642. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

I've used the Galco to carry a backup gun on duty for over a dozen years. It's never failed me despite some rather vigorous activity on occasion. I have no experience with the Renegade but it may be a more compact holster than the Galco.

I have 3 of the Galco Ankle Gloves, My brother absconded with one for his 37, I still have the ones for a Tomcat and an D.S./Agent. They were all purchased used and combined have about 300 days of use by me in 3 or 4 years. My observations are; 1) they work as designed/intended; 2) when you are not used to one, your leg gets tired FAST; 3) forget the idea of ankle carry on any steel K-Frame, in fact I tried a 2" M-12 and it wore me out! No way I would try a day or 2 with the 2" M-15! I noticed they always rode on the top edge of my ankle length boots (I have muscular calves and the taper of the leg made them stay a little low); and 4) I only use in cool/cold weather and not in snow! I know that is a lot of qualifiers, but on days that I'm driving or sitting most of the time, the ankle gun is easier to retrieve than the pocket gun. Ivan

I had a Renegade, and it worked very well for me. I currently have a Ritchie, which is basically an Alessi. It's a very nice holster that is very comfortable. A great design.

I'm extremely happy with my 10 year old Renegade...for around 50 bucks, it's hard to beat....:0

+1 for the Renegade. Give them a call and they'll help you get the right model! They're good people.

I ended up getting the Galco, just because it was easier. Verdict - I like it! It's going to take some getting used to, but I do think it's great.
