I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I'm having trouble finding much, the search function for these forums is terrible. So, my apologies for bringing it up again.

Looking for opinions on a good belt to hang a holster for concealed carry, would need it to be 1.5" or less. Will be for a M&P 9c. No general preference on material, would like it to have a simple buckle (easy on, easy off). Due to my job (I work at a hospital), I have to leave my gun in the car and most of my carry time comes on weekends only, but I still want the belt to be stiff and not sag after being worn a bit. Want to pay $40 or less, maybe up to $60.

What do you like? what have you tried that didn't work? I already have the holster figured out, just looking for a new belt.

Thanks.

Your search begins and ends at thebeltman.net

He is a bit more expensive than you are looking for, but then again his belt will last forever and continually impress. If you want to conceal, you need to invest in a good belt, even if it means spending a bit more upfront.

There may be other good belts, but since these work, and don't look like gunbelts, I have no need to experiment with others.

Perhaps your search-fu needs a polish.

Pull down the Search menu and select Advanced Search. Enter "recommend" and "belt" in the Search by Keyword window. Select "Search Titles Only" from the pull down window beneath.

Select "Search All Open Forums" with a single click.

Click "Search Now".

I'll second Bull Hide Belts. I have 3 of them. thick, almost 1/4" leather that holds the holster securely. Price is very reasonable and the turn around time is about 4 days. Current post in this section about "one more Lobo" has a pic. Lobo offers belt packages with his holsters also.

Check your local farm supply store. Farmers need heavy duty belts. The cost is usually considerably cheaper than a belt of the same quality sold at "Joe's Tactical Supply".

Amish Leather. Not fancy but also not obviously gunbelts. Thirteen-fifteen-ounce leather, stainless steel roller buckles. Around $25.00. I don't belt carry because of the way I'm built in my old age; but I have these belts in black and brown, and they are tough.

Thanks for the feedback, that gives me several good options to make a choice from. I do notice that they are all leather. I was wondering about the nylon or reinforced nylon belts also. Has anyone tried those out? Or is the consensus pretty much to stay with leather?

Did you look at the Ares belt??? Its not leather. Nice heavy duty belt. Its more expensive then you are looking at but then again so is every other quality gun belt out there. The one perk about the Ares Ranger is that you are not stuck to a set of preset holes to buckle to. Instead you have adjustability over a 6 inch range.

I use a Wilderness Tactical Instructor that works really well the only problem is that it's not exactly fashionable but the way I dress people almost never see my belt anyway
