I'm interested to hear from anyone who carries a 4" lightweight N frame as a CCW ... 325PD, 329PD, TR325 ... and the practicality of doing so. Not interested in hearing about Night Guards, just 4" Ns.

Not a lightweight, but when dressed for it I carry a 37 oz 4" model 22 in a Desantis thumb break scabbard.

Under an untucked button up shirt it conceals well and is quite comfortable. I Found using a thin, well rounded grip made a tremendous difference.

Not as a Rule, but a good pancake style rig is concealable & comfortable.

I use a cross draw clam shell outside waist band for a S&W mod 29, 4" whenever I fear serious social work is possible, a light jacket, sport coat, roomy sweatshirt or loose/roomy un-tucked button up shirt does well, but I'm now 5'11" 240lbs. I carried a full sized 1911A1, Browning High Power, or a Colt Combat Commander all in inside the waistband rigs for years too, as I've gotten older, I carry the revolvers more.

Not light weight, Model 28 4" OWB under a shirt or jacket. Also like to carry my 1917 same way but a little longer jacket! I'm 5'11" and 265+/- and never found the weight a problem, I have been keeping my eye out for a lightweight 25 in ACP or 45 Colt. Ivan
A 4" N frame is easily carried in a pancake holster (e.g., Alessi CQC), and easier yet in a shoulder holster (e.g., Alessi Bodyguard). So far, I've only carried it in bear country, west of the Mississippi - .44 Magnum, naturally.

I carried a 329PD in an IWB Galco holster. It carried and concealed very well. Weight was not an issue. Same holster fit my Model 25. Using a high quality belt and holster will make all the difference in the world in your comfort and confidence.

Again, not a light weight, but I am currently carrying a 4" Model 28 in a Theis hybrid holster: Theis Revolver Holster
I have been wearing it every day to work for at least a month now. No problems.
A good belt sure helps, too. I am wearing a Triple K Garrison belt that holds this thing just fine. Looks nice, too.

The closest I had was my 25-13. For a steel Nframe it was fairly light. I carried in in a Roys Original pancake and never had any trouble concealing it. It rode quite well on the belt, too!

Come on, guys, its winter. You could haul around a sawed off shotgun under a winter coat! If you're wearing a 3/4th length jacket like an old field jacket, its just not a problem. Common sense dictates that maybe its not real wise to carry a large handgun into a very crowded place, particularly a place where you may get jostled or bumped some.

I carry this 520 in a Lobo holster that I got from KLYDE and the grips from TMICHAEL. The Lobo holster carries the heft of the 4 inch N frame very well. I use a Bullhide 1-1/4 x3/8" belt.

I don't really see the difference between carrying a large or small handgun if you are getting bumped and jostled. If someone is bumping into your carry piece, they are bumping into it, regardless of size. I carry my 28 at work under an untucked polo shirt. Nobody is rubbing up against me there.
If I ever go to a rave, I'll carry something other than my N-frame.
I carried a 4 in. M29 all day in an A E Nelson untouchable shoulder holster. It was underneath a heavy unbuttened shirt. Larry
I can easily conceal my 4" 686 using a Lobo pancake holster.
However, my 4" 629 in a Bianchi 111 Cyclone is a different story. It's great for woods carry, etc, but not easy to conceal without a long heavy coat.

The 329PD is the revolver I carry into the 'Outback' on hiking, fishing, or camping trips. I always have a cover jacket, or fishing vest when I carry it. I use a shoulder holster, or a cross draw holster depending upon the outer garment.
Not much into new guns.
But, this somehow appeals to me.
