Amazing shot for just 1 - 8 hr NRA pistol class that she took 2 weeks ago. Now it's time for her C&C license.

After my wife's warm up session with the .357 magnum, we re-target and her first 6 shots are upper quadrant, almost holes inside of holes. Last picture, red target.

Dang!

Everything I've ever taught her she does better than me. To lose the title of "the best shot in the house" will deduct massive man card points!

The body target, all shots are hers except the "left arm" that I put 6 shots thru.

She's addicted.

Good thing I reload.

Now it's time to shop for a nice compact revolver (her preference after shooting both semi-auto and revolver)

That's some good shooting!

Now, define "compact revolver." A lot of guys get a "little gun for the wife." My wife carries a 4 inch Model 681 with Crimson Trace grips. I'd normally recommend something in a K-frame with a 2"-3" barrel, .38 Special/.357 Magnum.

I would have her look at the new snub nose model 60. Women are excellent shooters, they were used as snipers in many wars.

I got my husband started shooting, and now he's a better shot. But don't think of it as losing the title of "the best shot in the house", think of it as the creation of a "fire team".

Single action shooting is fun, but if she's gonna be a wheel-gun gal, she should make sure to practice double-action shooting for self-defense.

The 3" Model 60 with Low Recoil Hornady .38 Specials is a favorite with at least two women in one family. The slab side barrel version.

Who notes they were VERY good shots, DA at seven and 15, SA at 25 yds, they had the space next to mine at an indoor range.

Actually that's how we ended last night. Her last 24 were all double action!

My wife got into shooting a couple years ago. Some days she out shoots me by a lot, some days she's just off. That's ok with me though. When she first got her CC permit she felt much more comfortable with a revolver and bought herself a Ruger LCR in 38 Special and shot it well. After sitting her down and explaining to her how guns work and teaching her how to disassemble a semi auto she felt much more comfortable with them as well and eventually bought herself a Shield which she now carries all the time. I didn't try to talk her into either, rather trained her on both and let her decide.

Great idea Ballistic!
She shot 1 revolver and 2 different calibers of semi-autos, one with mag release button on the bottom and a 1911-style mag release. Right now her comfort zone is definitely revolver but that might change in the future!
