P365 with Holosun
For me a reflex sight is a big improvement over iron sights or the SIG P365 SAS fiber optic
It takes a bit of cash ($80) and tinkering (one of the SAS screws was hard to turn) to get a reflex sight to fit on a SIG P365. Although the P365X and P365XL slides can come from the factory with an optic ready cutout to accept a reflex sight, I did not see a slide for the P365 with a factory cutout. What I had to do was remove the fiber optic rear sight from my P365 SAS and purchase an adapter baseplate. Then I could mount the Holosun. Alternatively you can send a P365 slide with iron sights or a P365 SAS slide to a machinist who will make the optic cut.
But see post No. 13 below.

Nice work.
I went out and picked up an XL with the Romeo Zero.
Intend to replace with the 507K green and curious what you think of it?
Kept my original 365 the same to have a pocket carry/more concealment version as that need arises. Considered getting it cut but will probably hold off.
If you haven't looked at the Wilson Combat grip module it makes a nice addition to the package.

I purchased a relatively early P365 and thereafter had the slide milled by Maple Leaf Firearms- for the 507K. Outstanding work and a great RDS for the gun. I also added a Gray Guns XL frame for versatility but kept the shorter frame for maximum concealment.
I must say it was a neat package, but due to reliability concerns (early on it went back to Sig for teething problems) and, I never warmed up to a RDS equipped mini-gun and sold it.

Why buy the SAS model if your putting an optic on it? Am I missing something? Do you just not want the front sight protruding up?

Got the SAS for concealment
Then I wanted an optic but I could not find a short slide from Sig with an optic cutout, only the X and the XL

I bought the SAS variant when it first came out. The sight seemed nice in theory. But I never took to it. I used a converter base plate to add a Sig Romeo Zero(or something like that) red dot and like the gun much better. I have an alien gear holster for it which is molded for a red dot. It’s a great combination. Not what I intended when originally purchased but happy with it.

The slide from an X will fit the SAS and Natron, no?

I believe the X slide will fit on the standard P365 grip module but the X slide adds length compared to the SAS

The P365X slide is the same length as the P365 slide.
The easy button to do this is buy a P365X, and install a P365 grip module and use P365 mags.

I think the X slide fits the regular P365 grip module but the slide is a bit longer and the barrel is the same (3.1”)

I have all 3. They are the same length (P365 and P365X), which you can see in the above picture. I've swapped them back and forth and function checked with 100% reliability.

The X slide with optic cut and front and rear night sights is fully compatible with the short grip frame SAS and Nitron models, according to Sig.
But I couldn’t find it on their website without the RomeoZero included.
I have the Nitron and X versions. The X has the RomeoZero. Haven’t tried swapping slides since I prefer the X grip length so much more, it carries about as well and I like the RomeoZero a lot more than I thought I would.
I don’t think I’d carry a pistol without functional iron sights, and I went to a bit of trouble to get the slide version which retains the rear sight. Not all do, some versions lose the rear sight when the cover plate is removed, which I find odd.

Now I am not so sure about the Holosun. The sight itself is excellent in design and execution and taking my time the Holosun allows very accurate shots under all lighting conditions. But it makes the P365 less concealable in my pocket and I have yet to master fast target acquisition.

Having the slide milled, or using an 'X' slide will lower the optic, but honestly it's never going be great for pocket carry with that optic on top. That's one of the reasons I kept my original 365 with irons.

The 365 is too heavy for me to carry in a pocket, but the addition of the red dot would definitely take that thought completely out of the picture.
I think the original P365 is about perfect the way it is, but I just recently installed the Romeo Zero on an XL. I’m not sure what I’ll do with it, except shoot it. It’s too big to be “small” anymore. I’m always amazed by the accuracy of these guns.

My XL has become my daily carry, either with an OWB or IWB holster. It's still much smaller/lighter than a full size 9mm, but performs nearly on par with one. I switch to the X for t-shirt weather with an IWB. Both have Holosun 507k. The P365 is reserved for ankle carry, or when the even the X is too big on the belt.

More on the Holosun
Not being pleased at how difficult it was to quickly pick up the target dot with the Holosun I tried some dry drills at home (after clearing and checking the action repeatedly).
I found that bringing the gun up relatively close to my face made the window look bigger and, most importantly, the red dot smaller and much easier to find immediately in the window. Then I can extend my arms to normal shooting position while centering the now visible dot on the target. So instead of up with arms extended its up and then out.
Any thoughts from the forum?

Red dots on carry guns defeat the whole purpose for me, unless it’s a duty size gun in a duty holster and open carried. On a small carry gun, and that’s the 365’s whole point, adding a red dot just seems counterproductive to me. I’m sure your shoot better with it, but in the up close defense range of these guns, there’s no huge improvement to warrant the extra size and weight.

If I was looking for an up close defense gun only I would reach for a J Frame.
The P365 family can be deployed successfully at distance and still be concealable.
You never know what situation may present itself so I chose the P365 to be prepared for whatever distance may be needed. The optic just adds to that but not as concealable.

Yep. It’s like cell phones. They shrunk and shrunk to a perfect pocket size and then started back up the hill to where you need a man purse to carry one.

I have the original and an X with the Romeo Zero. I find the X only very slightly less concealable.
I wear both in a Galco Scout 3. I tuck my shirt in over the gun if I’m going to be in and out though a day, taking my jacket off, or in warm weather. As long as the shirt I’m wearing is checked or plaid, concealing the X grip is no issue. With a plain shirt the original’s shorter grip works better.
I don’t have a problem finding the dot while presenting the X, but I had to learn the bring the gun down flat out of recoil or I had problems finding the dot. FWIW, like on my ARs with red dots, I bring the brightness down until I get a clean round dot rather than a bright starburst.
