Heavens To Betsy....... a good looking light-weight carry pistol that is heavy enough to shoot accurately and isn't made of plastic. Oh, and it has a hammer on the back!

Beautiful Beretta. Now they need to offer it with a tip-up barrel, like the Cheetah 86.

Congrats on the new carry. I like the 80X, but one thing you may not be aware of is that there's a "step" at the halfway point activating the decocker/safety. Some folks have erroneously thought it's a spot for "safe" while carrying cocked-and-locked. It isn't, and the gun will fire at that midway step if the trigger is engaged.
Watch these short videos:
The 80X is not intended for cocked-and-locked use and is not safe to carry that way. Engage the decocker/safety all the way up -- two steps -- until the hammer is at rest. That's when it's safe.
Also, although counted as a traditional DA/SA, know that even when the hammer is at rest, the action is partially tensioned -- that's how they achieve the lighter double-action pull; so even hammer down, you're still partially cocked.

Seeing at the 80X in someone's hands ..... might as well get a 92 Compact 9mm with Mec-gar 15 rd flush fit mags!
Don't need the rail...... like the lines of the original better...... YMMV

I keep up on all the latest stuff out because I instruct and do a lot of advising shooters on gun purchases. I like the 80X but it is a large gun for a 380. With all the .9mm choices that are available these days in the same or smaller sizes, I question why a .380 instead of a .9mm when the .9mm is a much more capable cartridge. easier to obtain and cheaper. many of the .380's because of being a blow back design, recoil harder and the recoil springs are very strong, making them difficult to rack for many folks. Like Gunbarrel said above, I also think it should be produced with the tip-up barrel. The 80X being larger and heavier than many of the other guns in the class does make it a very good choice for recoil sensitive people and it does have some great features as well as being a very attractive gun.
