I've had a 3913 and a 3914. I no longer own either, nor do I still have my P6. Single stack 9mms didn't seem to offer any improvement over a Commander size 1911 - similar size, similar weight, and similar capacity.

The Glock 34 is the only 9mm that I own which I'd carry as a first choice. It's no larger than a full size 1911 and thus is easy enough to conceal. The longer barrel allows for a slight gain in velocity and they tend to be be among the more accurate Glocks. I do have a G26 to go with it, but consider the two to basically go together as a set.

Glock 19, with grip reduction by Ben Simonson of Boresight Solutions in Miami.

But that's only as a backup gun to a .45ACP 1911, or an unmodified G19 as a truck gun.

I don't carry a 9mm, prefer 642, 696 or Colt OACP.
I do enjoy shooting my Beretta 92. I have a '68 T series Browning Hi Power on layaway, looking fwd to a ranger session soon.

Is this a HiPower variant? I was studying up on them in Wiki, and the article mentions ALL the models/styles/variations. It mentioned a version of the HP that could be run in DAO or "revolver" mode. I kinda like the idea, but don't seem to see many of them.

Pros? Cons?

M39 for lite days. It is the only 9mm I own and only the third one in 50 years of owning and shooting. First was a Star model B, pretty good but heavy; second was a P38, no wonder the Germans lost the war; third is this Smith. It is quite accurate but leaves me blah.

Mine would be my Kahr K9....unfortunately, I sold it a couple of years ago and since they're not legal for dealers in the state of Mass to handle, my second choice would be the 3953. I like the DAO.

Well I do have a 39, M&P 9 and a Hi Power but the one that is carried every day in a pocket holster is my Kel-Tec PF-9. The cheap arsed thing goes boom every time and is supriseingly accurate. It's small and light and carries just right!

Does a 3913 really carry eaiser than a Glock 19?
I've never shot or carried a 3913. I've always found Glocks easy to carry, though thats in comparison to a Govt. Model 1911.

For many years my favorite handgun of all calibers has been the Browning Hi-Power T Series. However I have recently discovered the
Sig P6 or 225. I treasure the Hi-Powers I have too much to take the chance of losing one while the P6 is much cheaper, and readily replaceable at about $400 each while T Series are hovering around $1,000 each for a really nice one. Besides, the P6 needs no tuning while Hi-Powers need at least a trigger job and Novak Lo Mount Carry sights.

Yes, IMO the 3913 carries better than the Glock. It is alot thinner.

I think so, by some margin, although I find 1911s easier to carry than full-size Glocks, and as easy as 19s.

One thing I always wanted to ask 38/44.
How many does your Aegis hold?
I had a Com Comm in .38 Super once, but that was pre-good bullets.

No thanks. I suppose it might work great until you shove that thing in your pants, the trigger catches on something and...well...you know the rest...

The only thing that could catch the trigger and make it go boom would be some serious wood if you stick it up front . But really if you put the gun in before you button your pants and clip it around your gunbelt I can see of no way it would discharge unless you have a very light trigger . Mine was owned by a leo and I would imagine it has one of the 8lb triggers in it . I feel safe packing this way since I have gotten use to trigger pull , which might be a good thing if I ever have to use it at least a DA won't rip me to shreds for a trigger job

In 9mm, my new CS9. I have other C.C. calibers but the CS9 is smaller and lighter than the Kimber Pro Carry or Sig P239 I've carried in the past.

8+1, with the flush mags. My full-length backups can hold 10, but I only load 9 in them. One has to keep magazine spring tension up in 9x23s, or the slide will cycle too fast to pick up the last round or two.

I'm partial to my XD9sc as my everyday CCW. 10+1 w/extra mag. It is BY FAR the most accurate shooter I own in the 10-12 yrd range.....for a reason. Incredibly smooth trigger, and low recoil using FED Hydra-Shok 124JHP.

Default Kel-Tec PF-9 for the win

As far as I'm concerned the Kel-Tec PF-9 is tops for a carry gun, and underrated. All the rest are too thick, too heavy or too big. The PF-9 is no bigger than it needs to be. And, it's DAO so no safety, decocker, DA/SA trigger transition or anything else to think about - just stroke back on the the trigger 'til it goes bang. And if 7+1 aren't enough rounds for comfort you can go with the 10+1 P11, for a slight increase in thickness.

I like these little guns. I have two of the hardchrome ones, and other than needing sights replaced to get POI=POA (both shot WAY high, out of the box) my only other complaint is the triggers. The PF-9 trigger is much better than those on P-11s, but still quite heavy. Good thing is, when you pull them, they go "bang," every time! I have installed one of Kel-Tec's belt clips on one of mine (after slight modification) and occasionally carry it in a boot top. Can't do that with many 9x19s.

Originally, I bought this used P229 (LE trade-in) and set it up for IDPA, conceal carry.

But, I found it too heavy for conceal carry (for me), so I've switched to my 3913.

Tried a lot, I mean A LOT of different 9mm's. Hands-down favorite is a late '80's HK P7 German police refurb.. Part of the lots that were coming in a couple of years ago. Flat, reliable with everything I've fed it and very, very accurate.

Can you expand on this a little. The CS9 works better for IWB because? Is the CS9 thinner and/or shorter than the M&P? How do they compare weight wise?

Thanks

If you can conceal a double stack such as the Glock 19 or S&W M&P9C then that would be great. Itreied to carry a Glock 36 which is a single stack 45 and found that i could not reliablt conceal it at all times. I opeted to use either a S&W 642 or more recently a Kahr PM-9 both in pocket holsters.

Star M-43 Firestar.

I know it's... "inexpensive", I know it's... "a bit on the heavy Side",
and I know Star is out of buisness so there may be a "problem
getting replacement parts".

It is also... "small, accurate, rugged, reliable, and a blast to shoot".

I have had mine for almost 15 years, and it has never failed to function
with any ammo (with the exception of some 125 Gr. LRN handloads that I loaded a full grain shy of what I intended).

My Rohrbaugh R9S is always in my pocket.
If I must carry a 9mm on the hip it would be my Glock 19 with my CZ-75B a close second.

Regards,
Arkdweller

My favorite carry 9mm is my Glock 26. A very easy gun to conceal and the recoil is very light. Speer Short Barrel JHPs is the carry 9mm ammo for me.

I have three I rotate... a kahr CW9,Glock 26 and occasionally a G19... if I had the right rig my kahr k9 would be welcome but its heavier than the others. The G19 goes when I think the threat is higher than normal... but not to a full size gun level.

And if 7+1 aren't enough rounds for comfort you can go with the 10+1 P11, for a slight increase in thickness.

+1 Also, the PF9 has a much better trigger than the P11 or the P3AT for that matter. I've actualy used mine for shooting plates. It disappears in my pants pocket, with or without a pocket holster, even when wearing jeans.

Talking

I carry a Sig P228 Swiss Police trade in or a Sig P6 a German Police trade in. The P228 is a double stack with 16 rounds total and the P6 is a slightly smaller 9mm with 9 rounds total. Round count includes a full magazine plus one in the chamber.

P228 with new Sig night sights, Hogue rubber finger grips.

P6's as I have two
P6 with slide redone and Sig night sights, custom grips

P6 with complete redo, skeleton trigger, New Sig night sights , Custom grips

Ditto

Suprisingly easy to hit with.Trigger is way better than the
P-11.Flat flat flat......and light light light.

Also,pretty easy on the wallet.

Default G26 and S&W3913

I would have to say it's a coin toss for me I like my S&W 3913 and my Glock26. I shoot both guns fairly well. Both have been very reliable. Both disappear with an IWB holster.
