What EDC folding knife do you carry?
In the last few years, I've started picking up a folding knife here and there and have a (very) small collection at this point. So far my favorite is this Spyderco "Tenacious" model (3 inch blade around $25). It is in my "other" pocket 100% of the time.
I was wondering what others here may carry. From what I have read, the S&W knives are not that great - but feel free to correct this impression.
Here's a couple shots of the Tenacious when new:

90% of the time I carry a medium sized chestunt bone handled Case Stockman- with chrome vanadium blades.
Just like this one...with round bolsters (but mine has a bit of wear on it, and the blades are now black):
The rest of the time, a Benchmade Kulgera.
(About as close to tacticool as I'll ever get. )

Kulgera...
I have my eye on the Kulgera - at around $140 (street) it would be my most expensive knife - maybe it will show up under the tree

Don't have any pics, but recently bought a Smith & Wesson SWAT Assisted Opening Folder 3.7" Black Combo Edge for a little over $30 - I've been very happy with it so far (about 2 months). I've been thru several: Gerber Fast Draw and Applegate-Fairburn (the cheapo $30 one), Kershaw scallions, Chives, Leeks and a Blackout. The assisted opening Blackout was my favorite, but something about losing a $50 knife has kept me in the 'cheap' zone (I'm rough on knives and watches). IMHO a knife is more often than not used as a tool, not so much as a life-saving piece of gear - if and when it is needed in that regard, as long as it's reasonably sharp, any knife can be effective. The strongest steel on the highest-tech instrument isn't necessary for the job. I will say that once I went to a one-handed, assisted opening knife I retired all my Swiss Armies, Old Timers, and Cases.

My everyday working knife is an CRKT M16-04 Tanto w/plain edge and aluminum scales. I've had it for about ten years and have put it through hell and back. The AUS 4 steel holds an exceptional edge. I sharpen it about once a month using a hard then super hard Arkansas stone followed by a finishing stone of novaculite.

A Benchmade Auto Stryker. Carried it for close to ten years. Most of the black finish is gone, the serrations are mostly sharpened out/used up,and it gets used for all those things one should not use a knife for. It still shaves the hair off my arm at a touch. The blade is a bit narrower than it used to be---

This Herbertz' used to be in my pockets a lot, before even this size seems to be good for a criminal record overhere...
{to compare the size, my S&W Model 34 is in the photo too...}
This is a treasure I'd never part with; my oldest brother's Dutch Army Issue knife, that has seen a lot of use when I was younger:

I have been carrying an SAK Soldier for years. I used to carry the single blade tacticool one hand openers, but they are just a big blade. I need more tools.

For EDC, I carry a Kershaw LFK. It is small and you don't know that it is your pocket. It is very sharp and easy to resharpen.

Knives!
Right now, there is a Spyderco Paramilitary clipped to my pocket. I vary what I carry. I like knives about as much as guns, so I have a pile of them. That, and my Benchmade/Emerson CQB-7 are my other favorites these days. Well, there is the Spyderco Pacific Salt when I am on the beach and the Kershaw Speedbump and combo edge Leek and...

I carry either a spyderco delica or native.
I also like a couple of the Kershaws with the speed assist. However, I understand that Ken Onion is no longer with Kershaw. Will this mean the end to the speed assist on Kershaw knives or is the patent owned by Kershaw?
Also, do they make a Leek that has some sort of textured zytel or the like handle? I like the Leek but I will not buy anymore smooth handle knives for use in the field.
Thanks

I go thru different knives in my every day rotation, either an Emerson, ZT, or Spyderco. Lately it has been a Spyderco Military CE.

I carried a Vic SAK - the old 'Craftsman' - for years, interspersed with a Buck 110. Unable to put a double bevel edge on a knife that would cut anything other than butter, my knives ended up in a drawer when they were dull. Seven years back, I discovered Kershaws - Scallion, Blur, & Leek models - more eventual fodder for that drawer. My first Benchmade, a 551 Grip in 440c, came so dull NIB that it went directly to that drawer. Then... I discovered the razor-sharp Spydie Native in S30V - and, more importantly, their 'Sharpmaker' - I started emptying that drawer - and buying more Benchmades - some of which came sharp!
I did carry that Native - or a Vic SAK 'Farmer' - or a Boker Tree Brand slippie - in my front pocket, and a 110 or Kershaw JYDII, Needs Work, or Blur in my back pocket. Nowadays it's just a BM 710 D2 in the front pocket - super knife - all I need most days. The Buck 110s still sneak rides, too.
Stainz
PS Knives are easier to acquire - take up little space - but can still run up a pretty good tab!

S&W ExtremeOps SWA1CP
Inexpensive, sharp, good sized, and easily opened/closed 1 handed.
Then again I usually have 5-6 blades of some type on me at any given time.

I got the same exact Victorinox for general use. Also been carrying my bbq knife, a Cold Steel Talwar. I paid $143 for that $530 knife. I know the guy who bought the other one that was available and he sold it on ebay for three hundred something. I said "You fool, I still have mine."
Carry a Boker Ceramic once in a while, folding razor blade in my opinion.
Got a S&W knife, piece of ****, like their tritium watches.

Several years ago, a good friend gave me a Benchmade 670 Apparition. It provides for either spring assist or manual opening. My only dislike is that it is not left hand friendly.....I prefer to carry a knife in my support side (left) pocket. I have difficulty deploying it when carried in that manner.

Appalachian Trail. Used to carry Gerber but finally settled on this cheap knife. It is compact and holds a edge very well despite everyday abuse. Used to be anodized blue.

I've had a few Benchmade knives and sure do like them. But, after losing several of them I just carry around a cheap Gerber I can dig with and drop and ding up and not worry about ......
I think it's time to go shoppin' for a nice knife, however...
