Thinking of selling a rifle...
I have an HK91 rifle (the real thing, not a clone) I bought about '92 or '93. One of those things that at the time I thought it was cool, but I hardly every shoot it. I don't really like it much, I have other stuff I like a lot better.
I guess it is somewhat desirable, since they haven't been imported since '89. But I don't have much interest in keeping guns I don't shoot. So keep it or sell it?
I suppose if I sell, the easiest route is to consign it at the gun shop, but it could sit for a long time. I've never tried selling (or buying) a gun online.

I would keep it. You already own it. The gun is paid for, It is costing you nothing unless you shoot it. Any time you get rid of a gun, you will later want another one like it.
Guns are getting diffuclt to find

I recommend you kee it. magazines are cheap, gun some.
Get a real H&K scope mount, some ammo and shoot the gun a bunch.
The H&K scoe mounts go on and off the rifle and remain zeroed.
The more you shoot it the more you will like the H&K 91.
I have been shooting one since 1977.
It is one of my most favorite rifles.
I have taken my second best deer and my second best antelope with a 91.
I used one for a work gun.
I have shot them a lot, and can never remember any malfunctions.
They shoot hunting, ie. soft point ammo with no problems.
While the fired cases look a little rough I did a test and reloaded some 10 times with no problems.

I think Oldman45 gives excellent advice. I've got a lot of guns I don't shoot...but I would never part with them. You can't have too many guns and you will regret getting rid of a gun....unless it's a total ***.
Don't make the mistake of getting rid of it.

If you don't like it, why keep it?
The only on-line selling I've done is right here in the classifieds. Its not too difficult.
Decide on a price, since no auctions are allowed here. Figure out how to take and post pictures. I've found that ads with the pictures posted in the body get more interest than ads with "email me for pictures." Its worth getting a free Photobucket account.
Once you get a sale, you'll probably need to involve an FFL. Your local gunshop will usually do it for you. The buyer's FFL faxes a copy of their license to your FFL. When you receive payment you take your rifle to your dealer and he ships it off.
You could also decide on only doing the deal face-to-face, but you really limit your pool of buyers.
You can either include the cost of shipping in your price, or figure it out and add it in.
It seems like a lot of hassle, but its really not. Good luck.

Over the years I have "accessorized" it:
HK claw mount scope mount
PSG1 trigger group
PSG1 stock
The scope has been transplanted to a different rifle. The PSG1 trigger is very nice, but the stock is very heavy. It is really too heavy to shoot offhand. I still have the original stock, but the ergonomics kind of stink, which is why I got the PSG1 stock.

I had a PSG1 stock for mine too, I got rid of it for the reasons you state.
It was nice for prone shooting with the scope.
You can sometimes find a stock from a G3SG1, it has a moveable cheek piece, or a MSG 90 [I think that is the right model name] it has a moveable cheek piece and an adustable length butt stock.
Again great for scope shooting, especially prone with the bipod
They both work great and are about the same weight as the standard buttstock.
I have a PSG1 trigger group as well, but mostly use the standard one.
I carry the 91 a lot with the skinny foreend and the retractable buttstock.
Makes for a real compact rifle.

Rifles like that are not going to get cheaper or easier to buy. I'd hang on to it.

Use it barter with. Find the true value and trade up to something you want. Or keep it.

Thanks everyone for the insight. The main reason I was thinking of selling is it was just taking up space. I don't really have anything that I'm wanting to trade up to, so I might as well hang on to it.
If I do decide to sell it, I suppose I'll list it here first.
