The biggest drawback is cleaning it. To reach maximum suppression you should use a small amount of oil inside the first few inches on the internals. Easy enough but when it comes time to clean it is a mess.
Set aside about 2 hours to do a good job and be prepared to get filthy. Imagine crushing up charcoal real fine, then dropping oily parts into it and shaking till coated. Now clean that up.
As I said, very messy.

I have several cans, and I take a more pragmatic approach.....take a water container to the range with you, dip about 4 inches of the can in the water, and then shoot it...same thing, costs nothing, cleans easy....
CLEAR wire pulling gel lasts a bit longer, and evaporates completely just like water...
