What can you tell me about the CZ line of handguns? Any good? Stay away from??

Got a fellow who wants to trade me one for a Remington 760 pump in 30.06?

Your opinions?

I had one, mags wouldn't drop free. I sent it in(terrible service) it came back scratched and mags still wouldn't drop free. I promptly traded it to the LGS.

CZ makes some of the best, most accurate weapons for the money out of the box.

Read the reviews. The PO 7 Duty is a outstanding polymer gun. I do not have that model but have several others and several rifles.

Their customer service is good, not SW, but still very good. Most of their products do not need service.

Their handguns work right out of the box and get even better after several hundred rounds.

CZ's are OUTSTANDING in ALL regards! I have 6 of them. They are used by many armed forces around the world and for good reason. They are super strong, accurate, reliable, have some of the best ergonomics on the market today. Simply pick one up and see how it feels in your hand or anybody's hand for that matter.

TooSharp...The original CZ 75 was not designed to be a drop free magazine...many European designed handguns don't drop free which is a US design/feature. There is a leaf style spring that needs to be removed for the magazine drop free.

To paraphrase a quote from the late Col. Jeff Cooper..." Other than the caliber (9mm at the time) it is quite possibly the worlds finest handgun" What an endorsement!

A dear friend of mine has a CZ 75B that has over 100,000 rounds downrange in USPSA/IDPA matches. He recently noticed that the barrel was cracked..called CZ and told them of it. They sent a UPS call tag for it. It was gone 8 days total and CZ put a brand new barrel in it, replaced the extractor with a new one, replaced all springs and detents, returned it to Mike...NO CHARGE!

As far as the trade thing goes you would come out smelling like a rose on this one Colonel......

I have had CZ pistols & rifles for years. Just can't say enough good things about them.

Used CZ Customer Service one time, and it was exceptional.

Best Wishes,
Tom

I do not have a CZ. I do have a CZ clone. This is my P9 LSP, and it is a real workhorse. A very accurate piece.

CZ, family of 9mm

I own a CZ-75-retro, CZ-85B, a 22 cal conversion unit and a CZ-97B, my buddy owns the PO7 duty with the polymer frame and of course I made fun of him, after all it's a "POLYMER" frame.Well last week we went shooting and well don't tell him, but I am looking for one.
If you can't hit what your aiming at with a CZ it'd probably you.
I my opinion it's the best 9mm pistol on the market and a darn good 45 too

My first guns were old CZ's. My first dirt bike was a CZ, too. Every one of them is a beautifully made piece of hardware. My experience with them, plus everything I have read, puts a CZ75 right at the top of my gotta-have-next list, right next to a CZ rifle.

Mine was a P07 not a 75, supposedly from the run after they adjusted the molds to allow the mags to drop free. I liked everything about the pistol other than that and the snotty service service rep I spoke to after receiving my gun back in worse condition.

I believe the first round of P07s did have an issue with either the frame or magazine swelling, resulting in binding of the magazine, but that has been dealt with now. From what I have heard about them so far, I would seriously think about getting one, but I just got a P-01. For reference, I saw the 40S&W version for sale at Academy tonight for $399.

Finest 9mm I've ever owned -
I bought the P01 as I liked the smaller frame. It has the alloy frame w/ light-rail. It's also the CZ model that passed the extremely stringent NATO tests.
Here's a pic with the .22lr Kadet conversion kit.
