Any Springfield 1922 shooters here?
I recently acquired a nice Springfield 1922 .22RF trainer, only problem is that the stock has been shortened for a lady or a junior sometime in its past. I am looking for a replacement stock, can anyone help? Will buy your stock outright or trade the shortened stock and cash difference your way. Anyone know if an '03 C stock will fit a 1922? Are the barrel profiles the same?

Did you check Gun Parts Inc? (Formerly called Numrich). They have a lot of stocks for a lot of guns.

I have one. I don"t know of anyone making stocks. If you want an original stock it could cost more. Auction sites and milsurp forums would be the best places to look. If your stock has original markings you could consider repairing it. There are differences in M1 and M2 models and some changes to stocks while the rifles were in service. There would 2 or 3 styles of stock that should work. I can't find my Brophy's right now or I would look it up, there is a whole section about these rifles.

It's possible that a custom stocker might be able to make one up from an original on a pantograph if none are to be found.
I have an M2 M1922, barrel dated 1934; finest .22 rifle ever made IMHO.

Your best bet is to have one made by a stock maker using your stock as a pattern. You'll have to probably find a new buttplate since yours was probably made to match the shorter profile. Is it the NRA style or service rifle style? The NRA will be easier to fit.
If your stock is in nice shape and has original markings I'd have a professional add to the stock and get a new buttplate.

Related question
There is a gunshop in north GA that has a Springfield .22 conversion kit, in the box, sitting in the showcase. No price. Is it that rare?

I know that this is an OLD post but to answer your question, if it is/was a Numrich Arms kit they only made about 1,500 (from what I'm told) years ago. There are bits and pieces out there but complete kits, boxed with the manual and all parts are hard to find and I've seen them sell for $6-800. One just closed on eBay as a "Buy it now" for under $500 which I think was a steal.
