Clark Custom Guns
Clark Custom Guns (the Jim Clark outfit) has a note on their site that they will not accept any personal weapons for work after June 1, 2012. So if you want them to do some work on your gun, better get it to them ASAP. Looks like they're going to concentrate on production of their line of highly modified rifles and pistols.

You know what my dream is Cyrano? To have a new neighbor move in and find out he (or she) is a gunsmith!

Frank Glenn
Howdy,
I like Clark and have had them build a couple of my guns in years gone by.
There is nothing they do that Frank Glenn can't do as well.
If I needed one of my guns tuned or built I would not hesitate to send it to Frank.
Sorry to hear about the policy change at Clark.

Just discovered this thread. The only customer guns we are not currently accepting are 1911s. We are still working on all of the other guns that we always have to include S&W revolvers, S&W 41s, Ruger 10/22 & 77/22s, Ruger MkI, MkII, MkIII & 22/45s and Ruger Revolvers

I own a few Clark built Colts. Why aren't you guys working on 1911s anymore? Are you still offering your in-house Caspian builds?

Bought the Clark full house MkII Ruger .22 match pistol several years ago. Still on the web site. All I can say is what a gun!! Around 1 inch group at 50yrds. Perfect trigger, plus BoMar rear sight, custom barrel, etc. Worth every nickel. None finer. Thanks to all the Clark employees.

Mstuhr: Does Frank Glenn do that frame stippling that Clark does? It's the best treatment I've found for the front and back of the 45 grip.

I've had a few guns with Clark's Tiger Tooth stippling and no checkering will come close to the provided grip.

Hi Cyrano,
A lot of folks did that. I don't know about Frank. I tried to PM you a link but you are at capacity.
Frank Glenn-Glenn Custom Complete Gunsmithing Service Glendale AZ will get you started.
Good Luck

Renee,
I'm glad you signed up and set the record straight! I've had the pleasure of shooting several PPC guns customized by Clark and the work was top drawer.

Thanks for your previous patronage. It was purely an economic decision. Supply Vs Demand. It was getting to where our best case delivery times were in excess of 18 months so we temporarily (according to Jim) stopped taking in customer 1911s. We will absolutely still build any of our usual 1911s (in-house Caspian).
