Default Why isn't this SIG "California compliant?"

I was on the SIG Sauer website looking at the specifications for the P239 SAS Gen 2. Among the information was the fact that this pistol is not "California compliant."

What features does this pistol have or lack that earns it that rating? And what does that rating mean?

It might be the emissions it emits.

It could be that Sig have not submitted it for CA DoJ approval. It could also mean that they are not about to, either.

To answer you, it could simply be that they have not submitted one for the CA test, or the test is not yet complete.
CA only allows guns that pass a drop test. The test itself turns the gun into junk. Really- it destroys the gun.
The trouble is, only the EXACT gun you submit for the test is approved. If you change ANYTHING, you have to submit the new version.
This means you can get a blue gun approved, but the same gun in stainless is NOT automatically approved. You have to test the stainless also.

Here's is the list-

Other than what has been said above. It doesn't look like it has a "loaded chamber" indicator and if that is the safety above the trigger. It may not be marked as per Ca law. That's just what I see by looking at it.

I'm also going to say the trigger system. looks like the DAK trigger is compliant and the SRT isn't.

If you look at the regular base P239, it is Cal and MA approved.
So as was said above, the "new" model has not been submitted for testing.

P239

I believe the most likely reason is that the firearm will not pass the Ca "Drop Test".

May I suggest a "Drop Test" for those in CA who thought up this inane system?

^^^ This. Ruger's SR1911 isn't CA compliant & Ruger has no plans to make one that is.

To submit for testing the gun needs...

Magazine disconnect
Loaded Chamber Indicator
Firing pin block safety
I could be wrong but I think thy might require an interna lock. Not sure about that one.

And money... always about the money...it costs to be on the roster.

And to be compliant, the gun must shoot way left.

I bet you have to give them more then one gun to test. I bet its like importing a car that's not been federally tested. Where you have to supply three of the car that they will then total. All yea you gotta pay for the test and the cars.

Could be the $50,000 for each "model" test which can be something as little finish difference

Angry

Not one stinking thing unsafe about this Sig. Most if not all of Kalifornia gun rules and laws are nothing more than to make it difficult to own any firearm. Living here simply sucks. Voters don't know what they vote for. Kali media is corrupt and very left leaning. Education system has become noting more than Lefty brain washing. The only good thing is the weather. One must give up freedom and liberty to be comfortable in the sun. The cost is just too high. I want to pull the pin and bail out of this Progressive Lefty He** hole ASAP.
