Since we already had a thread about the most handsome looking bolt action rifle, I thought I would ask what everyone thinks the most handsome looking pump shotgun is. I am torn between two.

One is the Ithaca 37, there is no mistaking that roll engraved scene on both sides of the receiver. I have had several and there was never an ugle one in the bunch.

The other is a Winchester 1897 pump, all business.

I still have the first Ithaca 37 I ever bought, with two barrels. I sold my 1906 1897 pump to a SASS addict, I wanted to shorten the barrel and have screw in chokes installed. I like the "riot" look. The Winchester 12/42 models with vent ribs were classy looking to me as well.

the all wood Winchester 1200 pump defender is a good looking shotgun, like the short barrel on a 12 ga.

Mossburg 590A1. Now THAT'S all business.

I think the KSG is all business, too.

But, the handsome award has to go to the early Model 12 Winchester.

Are they still making the Browning BPS? My brother had one and it was very nice looking. Got stolen from his home along with my 311 .410.:(

The 1893 or 1897 Winchesters are the epitome of manliness.

Not saying that guns that look like they were designed by Henry Dryfuss aren't beautiful, but they are too refined to be manly.

Black plastic is tactical...
Can't image John Wayne using black plastic anything in a western.
(War movies excluded ;))

I prefer auto shotguns. I have used my dads 16 ga model 11 Sportsman since I was 12. (55 now) He bought it new in 1946.

Having said that I have an almost new, made in 1914 Model 12 in 16ga, the first year it came out in that gauge. Plain barrel, full choke. Very nice indeed.

Wow, don't usually care for tactical gear but that KSG looks mean and nasty. I like it.

I like the Ithaca 37's, but prefer the older ones with the corncob fore end.

A close second is a model 12 Winchester.

Having said that, I believe a proper shotgun should have two barrels. If finances ever permit, I expect I'd say the same of a rifle.

I've had model 12s in every gauge, Mossbergs, Ithacas, etc, but my favorite is my old police (private owned) model 870 that I carried for 25 years.
It now has a rifled slug barrel with cantilever mount and a 28 inch Rem Choked barrel for an all around gun.

I don't have one, but have always loved the look of the Remington 870 special field.

Like 30-30 Win., a prewar Model 12 with "corncob" fore end gets my vote.

Don't have a decent picture of my 16 Ga. from 1915. I've hunted with it a couple of times this year. Looks pretty much like Fat Tom's.
