Comparison of the Plastic Uglies

test fit the (uberugly) CT laser, so I took a few pics comparing the G2 to my carry piece, a G19

G2 is a little shorter, but overall about the same size (even with the CT).

By sculpting the slide it appears to be slightly smaller.

The Taurus looks impressive. Over the years they've made some good guns. Hopefully for them this model will work well. The G-19... just one word... (we pause to allow the writer to put on his Teflon suit) ... Perfection!

agreed...the G19 is the Snap On of beater handguns

Maybe not 'perfection' but a wonderful pistol. I have two of them, what's left of an assortment of about 5 Glocks.

G19 gen 4 so far is my favorite glock that I own or have shot.

It's hard to beat a Glock Model 19 for reliability. They are ugly, but they are real work horses.

If you are willing to do the work, they are pretty accurate pistols, too. The trigger is fairly terrible, but once you get used to it, it shoots quite well.

All that being said, I own a G19, but it doesn't make it to the range much. Just not a 'fun' gun, for me. I've sold so many guns over the years, and regretted selling or trading away most of them. I would hang onto the G19 even if I fell on hard times, and had to all of my 'fun guns'.

It sure isn't a pretty gun, by any stretch of the imagination, but it's got reliability down really, really well. It will eat all of my crappy, many times reloaded, range brass pick up reloads, and there is a lot to be said for that.

That Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 is a good-looking gun, feels great in the hand, and has a very nice trigger. Taurus has made some real improvements in customer service over the past few years. I've looked at the G2 and thought a lot about buying one...but, I finally decided I just can't. For one thing, even though Taurus provides a lifetime warranty, they don't pay for shipping after the first 90 days, unlike S&W, Ruger, and Springfield do, for example.

I'm not sure if Glock pays for shipping after the first year, but you can get Glocks worked on anywhere, and you can buy parts for Glocks easily...both OEM and aftermarket. Taurus won't sell parts, other than recoil springs and magazines....they want you to send the gun in, and if I have to pay, that's a pretty big consideration for me.
