Marlin camp 9 mag compatibility.
I have a camp 9 and want to buy a s & w pistol that can use interchangeable mags. Does anyone know which pistols can do this? I am a newbie, so please give specific models. Thanks so much.

I'm pretty sure the Camp 9 uses model 59 mags, and I'm guessing that the newer versions of those mags for the 3rd gen guns will also work, so a 59 (2nd gen) or 5900 series (3rd gen) pistol is what you're looking for.

For certain, the 5906 doublestack mags work, and I would think any of the other doublestack 9mm mags would also.
If you can't find any mags, I've been looking for an affordable Camp 9.

I don't have the 9. Mine is the .45. I can use the Colt 1911 mags, but I have to do some slight modifying so they will stay put. (I can't describe how I do it..no big secret...but they can be done).... Otherwise I have to hold the gun under the mag with my left hand, and pull the trigger with my right..
Somewhere I had run across a 20 rd mag for a .45, I tweeked it a bit, and now have a .45 Camp Carbine that shoots lots of times!!!!!!

I've sold a number of 5906 magazines to a friend for use in his Marlin Camp 9. He's never said they don't work and bought more after the initial batch.
