Talking Shotgun Wedding

Anyone else see the news item last night about a wedding chapel in Las Vegas that rents weapons as well as performing the ceremony. They rent fully automatic weapons, shotguns, pistols. From the film clip I saw, they must be making a small fortune on ammo. Nothing like starting a marriage off on the right foot by teaching the bride how to use a full auto AK 47.

Question per "Shotgun Wedding"--
Is this considered a "Formal Wedding" if the Father use a high grade Parker or L.C. Smith shotgun ?

I think it would be very low-class for the father to have any type EXCEPT a SxS. A pump or an auto, or worse, an O/U, would just look out of place.

Also I think he would need to be in bib-overalls, but definitely Sunday overalls, with both buttons buttoned.

Hammer guns add the most class, to any shotgun wedding. Also; shoes are optional, but boots must be scraped! Ivan

Nope. A formal wedding uses a painted white shotgun. Anything with a blued steel barrel or a wood or plastic stock is casual, aka informal.
