H&K is well known for innovative engineering to produce some of the best firearms out there.

I think you will want to see this clip of their new 7.62mm NATO machine gun. If you read German, all the better, but the action sequences speak for themselves.

Very little recoil

Quick change barrel

Very high rate of fire

Water resistant - barrel can be cooled by immersion, or the whole machine gun.

Tripod or individual carry.

Awesome reliability.

Until viewing the video I didn't realize that our range was missing a freshwater spring to cool off our firearms after extended strings of fire! I must bring this up to the bosses.

Every man has the natural equipment to satisfy the liquid-cooled feature in the field. In the 19th Century, this was considered a great way to clean black-powder firearms, also. Think outside the box!

Is this perhaps where the term P shooter came from?:D

Damn...that is one scary weapon!

There seemed to be a good deal of variation in rate of fire among the models, but the top-speed versions made an MG42 sound catatonic.

I know this is a 20lb+ weapon, but even so the recoil looks remarkably absent. I wonder what the trick is in the operating system. I did notice that the cocking action seemed to operate over about half a yard like a FAL. Maybe it is designed to never "bottom out" in recoil.

MG 42 runs 6-800 rpm with a max of 1200 rpm depending on the bolt used, advertised rpm for hk 121 is 600-800. The speed is fine but the minimal recoil is impressive for a 7.62 X 51, he was cutting one hole bigger on the target. Very impressive. Be Safe,

Very cool stuff from H&K.
One ratty hole from a full auto in 7.62 speaks volumes about the
recoil reduction features.
I'll take one !!!
