At the moment, I'd have to say CZ82.

I dunno. I've had several and then lucked up and been able to acquire them. Colt SAA=check. Luger-check. Pre 64 model 70 Winchester-check.
I guess an engraved 1899 Savage would be my next one. I have several 99's, but none engraved.

You said "grails" (plural) and "other brands (plural)." There's not enough time or space for the answer. I too would put a German Luger 9 mm on my list but here are some others. I'll stay away from oddities and select fire firearms.
While we're on topic of German guns how about :
H&K SP89
H&K P7
H&K 91
Russia:
Pre-ban Russian AK-47
Pre-ban Dragunov and case with all accessories
U.S.
WWI Colt 1911
1873 Colt SAA
1873 Winchester takedown (other old Winchesters included)
1887 Winchester lever action shotgun
Winchester Pre-64 model 70
Winchester 1897 takedown like in the movie Bullitt
I've got to stop. This could go on and on, country by country, decade by decade, long guns and handguns.

G8rb8,
In the past decades I looked for an ak47 but every time I seen one it was the last few that we're left. I always found the butchered one's with poor fit and finish on the wood. I passed on all of them. Then there banned by my state. Now under the wire at the time comes the brand new Russian Izmash Saiga. We're buying a brand new Russian manufactured ak/akm.
I would highly suggest to anyone wanting a Russian ak/akm this is the one you want. Even the sporter version shoots like a dream.
Marshwheeling,
The Czech military surplus CZ 82 in 9mm makarov is one awesome pistol. For the $200 price tag there hard to beat.

Two, both rifles.
Marlin 39A, either a Mountie or one from the golden era when they were still case coloring the receiver. I do have a 39A from 1948 so the other two would be icing.
One I didn't buy--an almost cherry Griffin & Howe Springfield in 30-06 for a GREAT price. Regretted not buying it as soon as I left the gunshop and it was gone the next morning.

Got the Python, several Mauser P.08, a Walther, Spreewerke and Mauser P38 but will most likely pick the new one up tomorrow.
For a gun addict it is always the new gun. This is a Korth Sport, 6" in .32 S&W long.
Oh yeah, and got nice sambar stags for the Redhawk already.

BRNO model 21h, square bridges, 7x57, all original.
Thats the grailiest of the grails.
Then 3rd model 44 HE, 6.5", original pre war magnas, shooter condition with box.
Pretty near as grayly as the first.

7x57mm mauser one of my favorites next to the 6.5mm Swede.
Don't be shy even if you have your holy grail post it.

I am close to where I want to be with revolvers (~25 Smiths, plus I have all eight of the stainless Redhawks: all four calibers in both "original" barrel lengths...), but would really love to have a full custom five shot 41 Magnum on a GP 100, or the 327 Federal on a Smith Model 14.
Maybe when I beat this cancer and can go back to work...

Smith and Wesson model 44. As far as I know only ten were ever made and maybe seven were actually sold. It was a 9mm single column frame single-action pistol, similar to what turned into the Model 39.

I got my grail pistol this year, a Steyr GB. If I were to list another, I would go for a Broomhandle Mauser, matching Luger or a rare code P-38. For modern I'd take a 6" Mateba.
For a rifle, Enfield No.4 Mk1T, the sniper package. Guess I would settle for one of the later 7.62 NATO versions. In modern rifles, I guess a Tavor would be favourite.

Colt 1921/Navy with a pickup load of 230G ball to run through it.
J/K. If I had a Colt 1921 I wouldn't shoot it out, I'd sit all day and stare at it.

Next year, mine will be a Gallatin, Tennessee marked Beretta. Perhaps a model 92, or an over/under 28 gauge.

At the top of my 'won the Lotto' purchases would be a Sig P210 legend w/American release and a .22 kit for same. Something Freedom Arms, too, like a Casull, more so I could just admire the fit and finish, LOL.

Not a grail gun for most people, but is for me: 3913 LS
A like-new pre-B CZ75 like the one I foolishly sold years ago.
Now for a really wild dream (especially since I can no longer hunt): a pre-'64 Model 70 in .257 Roberts.

A minty triple lock.
A first generation SAA Colt in .45 Colt. I have a 2nd and 3rd already.
And a Luger Artillery Model? The real long barreled one.

From your list, the German Luger and maybe the Python. Bought a Colt Trooper earlier this year; It lasted about 3 weeks before I traded it for a S&W nickel plated 3” Model 37 no dash.

S&W 52-A, in 38 AMU. Only 70 something were made.
Edited to add: here's a couple of Mausers, the early cone hammer variety. One of them has a 'Mauser Cartridge .303" sight. Also a couple of Lugers: one is a Model 1906 American Eagle in 7.65mm, the other an Artillery. I don't know if the stock is original, and would appreciate comments on that.

Do you mean Swiss made versus German made? A real SIG from Neuhausen vs. a SIG Sauer from Eckernförde?
If you get a Swiss model, go for the 210-6 with adjustable sights and the fixed hammer group. They have a target trigger and hammer, too.

The new gun always is the holy grail, isn't it?!!!
I just got a Korth Sport in the rare .32 S&W Long cartridge with extra Nill grips and a nice history.
An older gentleman with whom I have been shooting for a few years is scaling back and offered it to me. He had ordered a .32 S&W Long from Korth but there had been a delivery timeof several years. One day, almost three years later, he was contacted by one of the investors, who had pulled out of Korth, and since Korth could not repay him, took 42 guns instead. He had offered them to my friend in 1996 and he had it in his gentle care since then.
The upper gun is a similiar Korth Sport in .357 Mag from 1983.

Hmm... sounds like a fun game... most of mine are fairly pedestrian models (or were at the time of production, anyway - and not unobtainalble now - just most of them beyond my budget.
Winchester 71 deluxe, rifle not carbine, factory receiver sight
ANY pre-model number S&W .44 special, but while we're dreaming, just make it a 4" 1950 target (I have a 24-3 4", which sure ain't bad, and probably as close as I'm likely to get)
Colt SAA New Frontier .44 special 5 1/2"
Colt SAA .44 special 4 3/4"
Belgian Browning Superposed Lightning 20 ga.
Nice, and maybe some will actually come my way some day. Meanwhile I'm blessed to be the keeper of some fine firearms - none too rare to shoot but nothing to be ashamed of, either.
Good thread. I might "edit my dream" later...

Originally it was a Russian SVD. Due to astronomical prices I picked up a Romanian PSL before prices on those also went crazy.
It ain't too pretty but it shoots great.
The only downside is having to stick with lighter bullet weights.

Grail =
Original 45ACP Luger from 1907 - 1911 U.S. Army Pistol Tests
Original "Baby" Luger
Borschardt C-93 pistol with stock and case
But, if Mrs. Santa has been really, really bad; and Mr. Santa hasn't goofed anything up right before Christmas... ... Then, maybe an elf could show up with:
SIG P210
AMT 44 Automag
Weatherby Mark V Silhouette Pistol
Colt Diamondback 8" .22 LR
Or a 5" S&W Model 29. Oops! Sorry, I forgot you specified "other brands".
Best,
MB

Sig P210-1, like this one.
Couldn't tell you why it came with plastic grips instead of wood, but it did.
Which, oddly enough I picked up this weekend.
For those of you interested, TOP Gun has a nice supply...
