A few years back, one of our club members mentioned that he had a 1911 chambered in Super .38. Asked me if I would be interested in the gun. Of course, I'd be interested. He brought it to the club, and we struck a deal. He even threw in 10 boxes of Super .38 ammo. This one's a Springfield Model 1911-A1, beautiful nickel plating, and it shoots like a dream. It originally came with black pearlite stocks, and an arched mainspring housing. I replace the arched MSH with a flat one, and added a set of black buffalo horn stocks.

It's not exactly a "Jefe de Jefes", but it's close enough for my taste. Everyone should own a nickel plated 1911 sometime in their lives. Enjoy!

Awesome. I just picked back up a colt series 80 1911a1 in nickel I regretted selling. It took me decades to find one. I prefer the nickel finish.
