I have a Rossi 22 with the interchangeable barrels that I bought for my son about 3 years ago. Worked fine for awhile but now it will not fire.22 (I haven't tried the other barrels). At first I thought it might be the ammo I was using but I tried several different types including CCI and still got the same result. The hammer drops and nothing happens. This has happened on two different occasions and I'm not quite sure what to do as I'm not terribly familiar with this firearm. Does anyone have any suggestions you can offer?

TIA

Does the 22 cartridge have any imprint of the firing pin on the rim? If not, a broken firing pin or some obstruction preventing the pin from reaching the cartridge is the problem.

Looking at it again today, it appears the firing pin stays stuck in position when the transfer bar(? not sure if that is the right part) hits it. Any ideas what the repair might involve?

Messed with it some more. Some times it works, some times it doesn't. Sigh. When I get the funds I'm going to replace it with a Ruger American in .22. Spend a little extra for reliability.
