Here is a Review of the Taurus PT111 G2 from hickok45. Do any of you guys and gals have any experience with this pistol? If you do give us your thoughts. I have one and truly enjoy shooting it and be truthful you wont hurt my feelings. I know in the past Taurus has had some issues with some of there pistols but i think they got it together on this one.

I don't have the PT 111 G2

I do have a first gen Taurus PT 24/7 .45 that just got sent out to service on Monday. I have owned this gun for about 7 years, and it almost always has been a problem child. It began with 1 or 2 issues and became a constant headache. I have experienced stove pipes, failure to feeds, double feeds. I have tried different brands of ammunition including reloads, and new ammo from a range of makers including Remington, Winchester, Fiocchi, Tula Ammo, Wolf Ammo and others. The last time at the range, I only got one shot off before it jammed with a bullet that had the rear of the casing facing up, jamming the slide half open. After clearing that, I racked the slide back and was able to fire the next round. Then the gun jammed again. This time the bullet had stove piped. I tried the other mag, but had issues. The problems are consistent if the gun is clean or dirty.

I know people who have had Taurus' and loved them, and others that have similar experiences like mine..

I'm interested in other member's experiences with Taurus as well..

My wife has one of these and I did my normal 400 round brake in and found it to be a easy to shoot well and when compared to a m&p9c or glock 26 it maybe even a bettre choice for the average to small built person . The trigger would work better for smaller hands and I don't see that a problem as I don't have large hands as hickok45 does and the girls in the family really like it . The grip texture does works well . No problems at all thru 2000 rounds .
It is a best buy .

Sig P226 mec-gar mags work too . Makes for a great carry mag .

I'm not a glock fan . I can shoot them well but hate the grip design and angle .

Had the g1. One of the first handguns I ever bought. 15 years later and I just stay away from Taurus all together. They are not much cheaper then a good used gun and I don't do ..."they got this one right" .....to me that means they suck but occasionally even they get something right. Neh, there is nothing they make that I can't buy a better version for about the same money from someone else

I've had 10 up to this point, and none of them have given me trouble. They can suck occasionally, just like any other maker. If I let one ****** example dictate my feelings toward the maker, I wouldnt own any S&W, CZ, or Ruger products, as I have had to send one of each back to the factory at one time, in the case of S&W and CZ, they never corrected it.
That said, I'm not a big fan of Taurus auto pistols aside from the Beretta based guns. The PT/Millenium guns had a ton of problems out of the gate, not sure I'd trust them since it's tougher to determine a lemon from good when inspecting vs revolvers.

I offered my wife her choice of Sig, Glock, Springfield, Bersa and Taurus in a 9mm when she graduated from a 380. She chose the Taurus (Millennium Gen 2). This was also in conjunction with 3 sales clerks that I know from outside of their work (from hunting trips, range time, etc). All felt it was reliable. Over five hundred rounds and no hiccups. That includes hard ball and defense loads, equally.

I was so impressed I almost bought one for myself but decided the "baby" Glock fit me better.

I only own one Taurus, a PT 1911. After 16 months it is still a solid performer.

I did watch the video. For the price point I am interested. I have had good luck with the Taurus brand. I really liked my Ford Taurus too.

I'll pass on the ford version !! hehe

Hickok has said in the past he only reviews guns worth reviewing, and if he's testing a firearm and doesn't like it, then he won't make a review.

Also had a G1. I didn't exactly shoot the snot out of it, but it got it's share of trips to the range. No issues of any kind with anything I ever fed it.

Guess I just got lucky... with it... and the TCP... and the revolver... and the M92 lever gun... and the Rossi (also owned by Taurus)...

When my wife decided she wanted her own pistol, the first thing she latched on to was a Millennium (first gen at the time). I told her she could take home whatever she wanted, as long as it wasn't a Taurus. It's not that they're bad guns, but that out of everything in the shop it's a price point gun, and I wanted the money aspect out of her head.

She took the one on the bottom home. The one on top is my choice for a double stack auto. I consider them the best of their kind.

I was quite proud of her. After handling every modern auto out there, she made a great (perhaps the best) choice.

Short version...I hate cheap guns.
