Default Say it ain't so, Darryl Dixon!

In one of the longer promos for the upcoming season of The Walking Dead, there are some glimpses of a .410/.45 revolver. I thought it might be a Governor (would make sense for TWD fans), but noooo...... its a Taurus.

They don't show who is holding it at first. Someone has racked up a decent tally, though.

Then later, the big reveal: Apparently crossbow-wielding Darryl has a new blaster!

You heard it here first - the Taurus Ultra-light may be the new must-have gun for true fans.

You notice they never show Darryl cocking that crossbow. It's just always cocked and loaded whenever needed.

Well, Darryl or whoever is using the Taurus will probably get killed off the show when the thing malfunctions.

I’ve seen him cock it. I was watching a behind the scenes of the show and the crossbow is a model available at Walmart for a few hundred bucks.

The Python is the only gun that got any more popular. The Beretta 92 is carried exclusively by Karl. Probably was given to him by Rick when he took it off the walker soldier in the tank in season 1. Andrea used one slot too. Shane carried a Glock 19 the whole time. Andrea had a 3913LS with a backstory to it. It was a gift from her father.

Funny thing is gasoline would not be usable anymore. Gas can’t sit in abandoned cars for 2 years and still be used.

Yes it can. Do it at work often enough.

I guess a guy will use whatever he can get his hands on during the zombie apocalypse. Even a Taurus.

I hope he threw up in his mouth a little when he picked it up.

The batteries surprise me more. Every time they stumble across an abandoned vehicle it always seems to start right up. If my truck stays parked for a couple of weeks I'm lucky if it turns over.

That yea..... Ain't happening after 2 years! I can see how some of those cars run but after a few more years everyone will be walking or bicycling. And by now there should only be a few hundred people left alive if any at all. By the numbers there were slightly under 400,000 worldwide in 2015

I like sexy Carol's second gen Colt D frame. And that Motorolla HT1000 portable of Ricks whose battery wont last an 8 hour shift or detail last for months and suprisingly doubles as a ham radio! Still love the show!

You'd think they would at least raid a Cabela's or Dick's for boots, clothes gear and backpacks......... remember a episode where they were walking down the railroad tracks ...... carrying their 'stuff" in black plastic garbage bags and gallon milk bottles for water.

Standardize weapons...... S&W 15/22s with 25 round mags would be perfect for the "soft skulled zombies".... not too loud. ..........3rd Gen hicap 9mms and Smith ARs for all the "bad guys" along the way! Hey this is the S&W Forum!!!!!!!!!!

Since the farm have they met any 'good folks"....like us out there?

Yes those skulls are easily penetrated with any knife, yet Darryl never gets a pass through with that crossbow. I know it's a cheapo crossbow, but evidently it doesn't shoot much faster than a rubber band gun

I'm surprised anyone would use a wheelgun! Under appocalyptic circumstances, a lot of ammo is mandatory. Autos offer quick recovery, larger capacity and quicker reloads. Zombie skulls are relatively fragile==most knives would break trying to penetrate a normal skull. I talked to one Ranger (my XO) who saw a Viet Cong killed with a Randall through the skull.

I would imagine 410 ammo would be relatively easy to find==most survivors would opt for a 12 gauge, followed by a 20. Probably a lot of 410 laying around any gun stores. Forty-five Colt not so much. Nine millimeter would be plentiful, light(er) to carry and effective on head shots==even a 22 would as the Walkers decay, especially at close range.

But, hey, it's FANTASY! Remember?

Gas, at least ethanol free gas, will survive way more than two years. After Dad died 2015 I sold a '65 Olds Starfire that he had parked out back in 1988. Car sat 27 years with a half tank of gas. The guy who bought it put a new battery in and turned the key. It fired right up and ran. I'll admit I was surprised. I don't recommend using stale gas, but if it's all you got it'll do the job.

True provided you mag extra magazines at your disposal. Without multiple extra mags, the revolver would be easier to keep up and running. But I agree in a perfect zombie filled world, give me Glock 17 with plenty of extra rounds.

I'm guessing the writers didn't want to introduce another Governor.
