I'm the one that posted the Astra 400 with the case colored frame and other "enhancements". For some reason, I can't use the Quote feature to reply to questions. Yes this is a real Astra 400 and I have no idea who had this work done. I'm particularly puzzled by the case coloring as this would have required a complete disassembly and the coloring itself, while not up to Turnbull's level, is very decent . I expect the cost would have been at least $500. I bought the gun for a decent price as a conversation piece and the person I bought it from didn't know much of anything about it. When asked I've been known to tell people it was the personal carry gun of PM Francisco Franco of Spain!!

I've posted this one before. It's not chrome or nickel-plated, but would probably pass for a pimp gun. It belonged to my dad's Uncle Vern, an attorney back in the 30's who got disbarred for trying to bribe a jury.
Uncle Vern drove a pink Cadillac in later life that was frequently spotted parked in the red light district of the city. I often wonder if this little .25 auto once resided in the bodice of some lady of the evening. If it could only talk, the stories it could tell.
When Uncle Vern gave my dad the gun, he warned, "Don't ever shoot anybody with this. You're liable to make 'em awful mad."
Here's another possible pimp gun. Nothing too fancy...just a Bond derringer with stag grips...perfect size to slip into the pocket of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's purple ermine top coat.

Wow all of those guns are too high dollar. Back in the day when we arrested a pimp he was usually carrying a Rohm RG10 22 Short.
