Keep Shield or upgrade to Sig P365?

I’m an M&P guy all the way. But, I love variety in the CC world too.

Obviously, you can find a negative or problem on just about any gun out there.

Figured I’d post this video since its pretty recent.

Sig P365 Gen 2 2000 Round Test: Complete Failure - YouTube

Thank's but i had posted that last week, the Title is misleading since it broke after 1K of a 2K test!

A few more vids lately show the gun is still peening bad on slide & barrel lug which was thought to have been fixed but seems not.

Some say this is causing slide to not lock back sometimes on empty mag!

The Sig P365 is a nice pistol. I would not part with my Shield though if I were to buy the P365. Sig has a reputation for releasing products prematurely (Mosquito, P250, P320) and working out the kinks later.

For size comparison, here is the Sig P365 with a Sig P320c and a Glock 43.

i think its called consumer beta testing ;)

Sig has defiantly dropped the ball on the polymer guns. The P series are solid, though.

Glock 43, Ruger LC9s, Walther PPS, Beretta Nano, Kimber Solo, now the Sig 365. Another in a long line of single stack 9's released to surpass the Shield. No slam on any of those makes, but IMHO, doubtful. Especially since Shields are on sale pretty much everywhere these days.

Harry has done more Vids on the P365 than anybody and has had many issues with his P365's!

I thought his review was honest and quite good and hopefully by yrs. end the issues will be fixed!

And just how many 365's has he tested? Point being, anyone with a phone and data plan can be a "You Tube Sensation".

AFAIK he has bought 2 and tested 1 more and has had about every issue known to the P365, so he has more on hand exp. than U or i and most others.

It is honest reviews by an avg Joe rather than a paid reviewer of which there are many.

So we learn with Harry and everything he has said or thought others found out to be true!

His credibility suffered in my eyes when he bought Phil Strader's account of the number of P365 striker problems...

He simply stated what he was told and said that maybe Phil didn't get all the facts.

Seems Sig tells many different stories about how many issues with the firing pins.

Of course Sig tells stories about early production issues. That's why I have an aftermarket steel striker inbound for my 365.

A running poll on the SIG Talk Forum currently shows that 10 out of 68 365s owned by SIG Talk members have had a firing pin break, a failure rate of nearly 15%. Plus three other SIG Talk members have reported failures in other threads, but have not responded to the poll. Gee, 13 out of the 14 broken firing pins reported to SIG have belonged to SIG Talk members. Those guys sure have bad luck. The lesson is that if you want to avoid having firing pin problems with your 365, don't become a member of SIG Talk!
The problem with these kinds of "polls" is that people with a problem are far more likely to respond, than people with no problems. BTW, I'm not believing the 14 firing pin breaks in 45,000 either coming out of the mouth of a Sig spokesperson.

Keep the Shield! I got a P365, and it's the worst firearm purchase I have ever made! It's way too small, way too many issues are happening with people P365's, and mine had a bunch of finish wear on the bottom inside of the slide, and around the hold the barrel goes through. I am dropping the P365 for another Shield right away, even though I have not fired the P365. I am not going to. Just give me more Shields! Far superior firearm.

No. I have never done any "trolling", but I have noted the Sig shortcomings.

If this is acceptable out of the box, then I will be taking my business elsewhere. Sticking with Glock and Smith & Wesson. I will never pay money money for something that looks this used.

I've never heard anyone comment on any firearm as being the worst purchase ever, without ever having shot it. I'm sure that there are some on the internet, because there is just about everything, if you look hard enough. My big question to you is, if it is too small for you, why in the heck did you buy it in the first place? There are plenty of videos showing the comparable size to other pistols. I expect that any new pistol I get would be test fired and show a little wear. With all the internet complaints there are, I would expect that the P 365 might get more test firing than normal, but I could be wrong.
