I carry a Kershaw Dividend (1812) daily, after carrying a Leek for many years. Mostly for the myriad chores for which you need a handy knife. Both Kershaws are good knives at an excellent price point.
If I ever have to use it for self-defense it will only because things have gone way south and I am left with less than optimum options. However, it is an option, if only last ditch.
