I saw this at the local gun shop, and debated about 44 seconds before saying I'd take it. The fact that I had 200 rounds of 44 Special ammo didn't hurt.

Taurus 431, five shot, 44 Special, 3" barrel, fixed sights.

I had one in blue a few years back and sold it for, I'm sure, some silly reason. One of the few guns I've really been sorry I sold.

I paid $400.00 for it, which I don't t guess is too bad these days. The 431 seems to one Taurus gun that most people seem to think a lot of.

(crappy cell phone pictures taken at the shop)

Now to get it to the range.

I love my 445, which is an L frame cylinder in a K frame with a J frame grip. It aluminum frame so pretty snappy with hotter 44 SPLs in it, but it pocket carries well as a BUG to my M29.

I picked one up a few years ago, a blued model. I love it.

Sort of in between a K-frame and an L-frame. Perfect size.

Mine has a wonderful, smooth trigger. So far I've not put a bunch of time in load development, but that time will come.

I paid a bit less than you did, but I don't think you overpaid.

The price on the older Taurus revolvers is moving up, as folks discover the quality of that time frame.

Enjoy !

I have a 3 inch 431 that I paid the same price for a couple years ago. It looked exactly like yours. Great shooter, good quality gun which I have no plans of parting with.

A dispatcher for our county started up a cerakoting business, and I was interested in giving my 431 a new look (pictured below). The gun is now posted full time on security detail on the first floor of my house.

Nice. I've heard nothing but good things about the Taurus 400 Series Revolvers.

I bought a 4" 431 back in the 90's. Nice gun. Sold it about 15 years ago because I had bought another 44 Special revolver. If I had it today I'd hang on to it.

Ok, I freely admit it, I'm a Taurus "hater" (generally).

Now, having said that, If I saw THAT revolver, at the "right price", I will admit I would buy it.

I will deny having ever posted this, and if I could make this post self destruct in a week, I would.

Congrats on a nice purchase, enjoy it!

I couldn't have used more accurate words to describe how I feel about Taurusses in general and this particular model!

It's OK. This is just between us. I won't tell anyone. :D
