Recently I started to try out carrying two pistols. Contrary to what I thought, it’s very easy.

This SIG P220 strong side hip in a leather thumbbreak, with an extra mag support side. Also support side is the Spyderco and flashlight. In a pocket holster strong side front, resides my SIG P232.

A stiff gun belt balances everything nicely.

Some folks might consider this extreme. Then again some think it’s extreme to carry one gun.

It works fine for me.

People think because I carry a gun and a knife every day that there is something wrong with me. That's ok because I don't have any need to discuss it with them. It's none of there business. I think there may be something wrong with you for carrying two guns and a knife but then again you don't have to clear it with me. It's none of my business. You take care of your business and I'll take care of mine and we will get along fine.
BTW if I were younger and stronger I might would go for two.

I carry two on rare occasions. And I live in a good neighborhood. Of course there are those that think I'm an extremist for doing so. Primarily people that don't know what they're talking about and don't know me and why I do the things I do.

If you want to carry two, go for it. It's your choice and there's nothing wrong about it.

I never carry two "on me" but occasionally have more than one with me.

I might bring several guns on out of town trips and switch them out according to dress and activity. For example, might pack an Airweight J Frame, a K Frame of some sort, and maybe a Glock or Smith Third Gen single stack in 9mm. Usually pack a few holsters....pocket, IWB, and OWB. Most often using the IWB.

Perceived Threat and Life Experience

If you were ever in a struggle to maintain possession of your primary weapon, you just might be wishing for a second gun on the off side that you can suddenly present and put an end to the miscreant trying to disarm you.

I don't criticize anyone for carrying a second gun. I have carried two guns at times but I hate having to dress around a gun, let alone two. I'm hoping that judgment and tactics will keep me from ever needing a second gun.

It's been a while, but I've done it a few times, a 3" 65 strong-side IWB and a 642 weak-side pocket carry, with a speed strip of .38 so I could reload either gun if need be. I've also experimented a bit with carrying a pair of J-frames (a 642-1 and a 642ND) in the same manner, but not for any length of time.

My problem is that I'm one of those guys who has a bunch of cra stuff in my pockets, so figuring out how to carry it all with 2 guns, without resorting to a fanny pack, has been difficult.

Plus, for my typical attire (I practically live in jeans), pocket carrying a 642 isn't exactly "optimum."

I am a fan of having a gun accessible to either side. Unfortunately, lack of shoulder mobility makes support-hand drawing from my strong-side holster nearly impossible with my current set-up (Beretta PX4 Compact in a TT Gunleather Mike's Special IWB holster). It also makes using a crossdraw holster difficult. One thing I liked about carrying a 642 in a Side Guard Holsters Quick Clip IWB holster, that extra play on the belt made it possible for me to do a support-hand draw because I could reach the gun and pivot it in the holster and draw it out.

So, for now at least, I carry one gun at a time on me. But I see nothing wrong with carrying a back-up gun. How many people are willing to drive around without a spare tire?

naa...

Besides my main carry there is always a NAA mini revolver in my pocket.

knew of a Georgia SP that velcroed one of those in the top of his smoky hat-He could doff his hat as a gesture of politeness and have his hand right on the little sucker to shoot right through the hat crown if needed.

good hood...

That's good paddle cause the perps like the nice hoods to steal in.

Truth be told, I carry two when the wife and I are out and about. She has rheumatoid arthritis. She can’t run much anymore which would force me to stand and fight or draw the attackers away. Leaving her the second gun would hopefully offer her enough protection no matter what happens too me. She does know how to shoot.
