Went into Bass Pro a couple weeks ago when they had quite a few handguns on sale. Had a gift card and a bunch of points on my Cabelas card to use up. Found this PPS M2 le with 3 mags and night sights; felt pretty good in my hand ,so it came home with me. Took it to the range last weekend and it proved to be very reliable with all the ammo choices I fed it: 95 gr rnfp, 115gr rn, 124 gr rn, 135 gr rnfp, 124 gr XTP and 147 gr HST. It did seem to group better with jacketed bullets, versus plated. The best groups I got out of it were with the XTP and HST bullets. Put probably 150+ rounds thru it and no hiccups of any kind.
Size is very close to the Shield. Trigger is very good. Very comfortable to shoot and enjoy. First Walther I've owned.

Very nice.

I think that you're really going to like it. I own a couple Walthers and they're both fantastic firearms backed by a company who stands by their products. (And by extension those manufactured under license by other companies.)

I had actually planned on getting a Walther PPS M2 in .40 S&W as an upgrade from the PPK/S that I currently carry, but then Walther cancelled the .40cal chambered version.

I like mine too. For whatever reason, I can shoot tighter groups with the little Walther than my M&P9.

I had one of the original model PPS guns - only thing that went wrong was the slide lock spring broke on me during regular practice. I called S&Walther and they sent me a few extras. Whew, but that was more of a hassle to replace than I would have thought - you know how sometimes things just don't go right the first, second, third or fourth times. ;) Got it done, though.

Palmetto State Armory had a sale on these recently. $269 with two mags and free shipping. Buddy who already has two bought another just for spares I think.

I need to shoot one to see how it compares to the LC9 and the CW9.

I've read they are an excellent gun for the money and shoot like a larger sized handgun. I should have purchased one from Palmetto during that sale. I thought long and hard about it. I truthfully have no need for one but how often can you find a good quality pistol for that price? I guess more frequently these days as the bodyguard and PPS seem to be on sale every couple of months.

I bought a PPS M2 LE last year at Cabela's. (Bassela's?) I like it a lot. I did put a Talon Grip on the grip and the magazine base pads because it felt a bit slippery. The Talon Grip added a slight amount of girth and traction to the grip. Love the worn bar of soap feel to the grip, though.

The original PPS, now called the Classic, had the original replaceable back straps, but the M2 doesn't. Like I said, I like the contoured grip on the M2 better.

Did you notice the empty brass coming out of the PPS? The fired cases come out of the chamber with a slight bottle-neck look to them. I guess Walther uses the original Luger dimensions in their 9mm chambers. Luger originally made the forward part of the chamber a slightly smaller diameter than the aft part of the chamber. When the round fires the tighter diameter at the mouth of the chamber helps keep gasses from fouling the chamber with soot. (smog?)

For soft leather holsters the PPS M2 will fit in holsters made for the Springfied XDs.

Enjoy your new Walther. I recently purchased a used PPS M2 with Trijicon HD Night sights and took it to the range today. Had one failure that was easily attributed to my finger hitting the magazine release. Nice shooting gun for being so small.

Bill, as a matter of fact I did notice this. Gun continues to function perfectly. Took it out today to the wildlife area where I like to shoot. Always plenty of pop and water and beer bottles, cans, etc. to shoot at and clean up. Was shooting at a couple bottles at about 20 yards and couldn't believe the way I was able to bounce 'em around. Took it out mainly to check out if it would feed Gold Dot ammo. It did and I was so happy with it, I put another 30 rounds thru it just for fun.

I also picked up the LE version of the M2 last year at Cabby’s before they started the trigger lock BS. I very much like mine and picked up one extra mag to have a total of four. I have had zero problems and like the trigger on it better than the Block’s. I’m saving my shekels to put a CT Laserguard on it later this year.

I've owned two of the origonals . ( One in 9mm and one in 40). I still keep and carry the 9mm. For me, these are everything a compact 9mm should be. I love the ergonomics ( including the trigger guard mag release.) They tend to shoot like a bigger gun too. Mine were reliable as a hammer. All I've done to this one is add Talon Grip panels.

I've carried a Walther PPS40 in a Falco IWB/OWB leather holster for many summers. The PPS is my smallest sized pistol and gets most of my summertime carry in the hot, humid North Carolina weather.

The PPSs aren't range guns, especially the .40 S&W, but I'm confident it'll get the job done in a personal defense situation. The tight tolerances seem to make a difference in achieving small shot groups.

Enjoy your PPS.
