2" Colt Lawman MK III value?
He's another one I'm considering buying. Its for sale locally. I've only seen pictures.
1972 Colt Lawman MK III 2" barrel, blue. Appears to be about 95% with a turn line. Looks good in the pics.
Two sets of grips: Colt targets and pachmyers. I don't think either are correct for this snubbie.
Asking price is $725. That seems a little high to me, but not sure of current value. I checked GB and struck out. Other internet sources are several years old. So what are these selling for these days?

That may not be too bad of a price considering condition and the value placed on a two inch lawman. I'd offer a little less, maybe $650-$675 but be prepared to pay the full price if it's something you really want as you have seen there aren't a lot of them for sale. Good luck!

If you can live without the correct grips that isn’t a terrible price. You don’t see them often, and they are very cool guns.
The correct grips can be very hard to find, and will likely set you back $100-$200.
I’d use the incorrect grips (stocks in Coltspeak) to try to beat the price down.

Believe it or not, the correct grips (or stocks in Colt-speak) for some of the Lawman MK III guns were Pachmayr Presentation grips. I have one in the Coltguard electroless nickel that came with them.
I was told some had the Colt medallion but later ones did not, but I can't confirm this. Mine has the medallion.
They are big and ugly on the gun, but they are comfortable and correct.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, something came up today that put a big dent in the gun fund. Maybe if its still for sale in a couple of weeks I'll reconsider.

A similar gun sale was offered up on the pony only forum and the gun was scooped right up at a sell price of 700. Everyone thought the buyer got a great deal and they started to line up if the deal fell through......unfortunately it turned out that it was probably a scam. Two weeks since the buyer sent his money and the seller has gone radio silent.....the point being is that at $700, colt guys were tripping all over themselves trying to buy the gun. You are not getting hurt if you got it for $ 725 out the door and a steal if you got it for 650-675.....I would do the deal......
