Default Please tell me about bluing on Trooper Mk III **ADDED PICS**

The flats of the frame of this Trooper Mk III are an even matte blued finish, while the barrel and cylinder are polished. Per the Colt website, the serial number dates this gun to 1973.

Question: Is this the factory finish for this gun, i.e., matte finish frame and polished barrel and cylinder? If the frame isn't supposed to be matte blue, then it's the most even and uniform dulling or wear of a polished blue finish that I've ever seen, while the barrel, cylinder, and latch were unaffected.

This seems to jibe with pics of some other Mk IIIs that I've seen, but pictures can deceive, so I thought I'd ask the B & B.

Thanks for any info.

I had to pull mine out of the safe to compare. Yep, looks just like my MK lll.
A fantastic shooter. Enjoy.

Thanks. That’s the answer I was looking for. It also looked like some pictures I pulled up online, but pics can be deceiving. Better to have someone who can look at theirs.
