The flats of the frame of this Trooper Mk III are an even matte blued finish, while the barrel and cylinder are polished. Per the Colt website, the serial number dates this gun to 1973.
Question: Is this the factory finish for this gun, i.e., matte finish frame and polished barrel and cylinder? If the frame isn't supposed to be matte blue, then it's the most even and uniform dulling or wear of a polished blue finish that I've ever seen, while the barrel, cylinder, and latch were unaffected.
This seems to jibe with pics of some other Mk IIIs that I've seen, but pictures can deceive, so I thought I'd ask the B & B.
Thanks for any info.
