Sharpening Knife in Gerber LMF 2?
I have the LMF 2 and it is solid. I also have a SOG spring assist opening and it was never sharp even when I got it. Can I use the sharpener that is in the sheath of the LMF2 to sharpen other knives? I don’t want to buy another sharpener if the one in the sheath will do the job.

The sharpening angle on the Gerber probably won’t work well with the SOG. Pick up a Spyderco Sharpmaker.

Well the Lansky pull through I have works well on my Sog Trident with the carbon and ceramic sharpeners but not so good on my Gerber fixed blade. Think the Gerber has a double bevel.

I use a Japanese water stone, I think about 1000 grit or more, and it gets the knives VERY sharp. The key, I've found, is to maintain the angle from the blade to the stone and take your time...at least the first time. Once you get the blade sharp, it's a lot easier to maintain and touch up.

Thanks for the replies. I found out SOG has a lifetime warranty and will sharpen for free so I sent the Trident Tanto and a Flash 2 in today for a free sharpening and once over.
