I have a Cold Steel Kukri pointed, machete/knife I bought from Academy that I keep strapped to the handle bars on my four wheeler. I've used the heck out of it for clearing limbs and small trees and it holds an edge well and I can quickly resharpen it with a battery Dremel tool and it seems to work a lot better than a traditional machete or big knife and I have no doubt it would work well as a defensive weapon.

Pikes, Pikemen, and the Pike Square were what brought an end to mounted knights! The affordable flintlock musket brought an end to the Pike Square. A more reliable ignition, brought an end to the flintlock.

A terminal round of "Rock, Paper, Scissors"!

After the flintlock the percussion, cartridge cases, then smokeless powder. machine guns, the bullet proof vests, which gave birth to rounds that would penetrate that. The military then invented body armor to stave off the current small arms, but the 6.5 Grendel should fix that. For a while.

Could be true

That is Lynn Thompson, owner of Cold Steel knives. He loves to demonstrate his toys. Widely regarded as a clown and an embarrassment to himself, his products are nevertheless well thought of.

I don’t think the halberd is part of his product lineup.

A little hard to get a good swing in my hallway.
I have one of his original throwing knives in 1095 steel. A good camp knife

Unlike the hanging pig a perp is able to move around so his weapon could be cutting air not flesh. Also it is said never throw your knife so I am guessing the same would apply with this big monster knife like weapon.
If the perp gets in close this weapon is possibly of no defense. A knife could be a much better weapon. Also a trigger can be squeezed a lot faster than this can be swung for followup strikes. It is a very dangerous weapon for sure though.

What exactly was the intent of that video?

Christmas marketing video ....... showing off a new tool for

Chopping fresh fruit salad ........ as well as

Carving the Christmas "Roast Beast" down in Whosville.............

Spearing the last baked potato from the serving platter halfway down the table........

Opening Christmas gifts "....all tied up with string........these are a few of my favorite things." (sorry I digress)

Perfect tool for opening those gifts you get in tamper proof sealed plastic or Amazon packaging...

Shutting up your Crazy Uncle _________ who wants to talk politics and about impeaching Trump at the Christmas dinner table.... with a simple thrust or throw of the same tool with which you just carved the "Roast Beast".........

finally as the evening ends: as an ice removal tool on your mother in law's car so she will finally go home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I think that covers the uses shown in the video! :D

Growing up with flood irrigation it was unusual to see a teen without a shovel in a farming area. A friends older brother told us he was sure he could kill a man with a shovel. We started practicing throwing them and most of us could stick a shovel in a tree or a post at 15 -20 feet. That doesn't even allow for swinging, jabbing, batting and smacking. How many of us are really aware what normal items could be used as weapons?
