Any one tried one of these? Looks neat. Folds in half. If reliable would buy one. Noticed the soft case for them is out of stock. Anyone know of a substitute case that works?

I keep mine in a soft laptop case. The SUB2000 has a lot of plastic parts. It’s fun to shoot and it hasn’t given any problems so far. The “Multi Cal” model can be adapted to accept a number of different magazine’s by simply changing out the mag catch. But it won’t take Glock.

The Gen 1 Sub-2000 has a version that accepts S & W 59 and similar magazines. I think they have a role as a backup for those with a pistol using the same magazines (Beretta, Glock, M & P for Gen 2). Don’t know if they are easy to find in the current buying frenzy.

I have been sort of following the Kel-Tech Sub 2000 though I do not yet own one. No one would accuse it of being super accurate or feeling too sturdy, but it is accurate enough and sturdy enough for a portable carbine that folds in half. Having said that it does the job and is easy to carry or conceal. I have not fired it enough to say that it is reliable, but it seemed to be in my limited number of rounds. Most Sub-2000's that I have seen accept Glock Magazines, but some are designed to accept S&W Magazines (and others that I have never seen an example of - see link). I see fewer and fewer of the S&W magazine Sub 2000's available for sale. It can be the right weapon at the right time or place, but wins in my opinion primarily on the "cool factor" of its folding design. I have attached the Wikipedia write up for those interested. gonerydin,

What size screen is the soft case designed for that fits the sub2000?

That way i can narrow my search. Thanks

I got the Amazon basics 17.3” Laptop case/bag. It’s <$20 and works perfectly. It holds spare mags, ammo, 1x optic and misc. bits with room to spare. I think it’s a lot better the one Keltec sells.

I have one. Got it when they came out.
Great to have it in the passenger seat when I have to drive thru a bad area of a city. Or on a long distance drive.
Extra magazines too.

I have the 1st generation version that takes Smith 59 mags. I believe it was a pretty rare version. I never owned a Smith 59 series gun, so KelTec sent me the Sig P226 magazine release catch. The Sig P226 was my LEO duty gun so I kept the KelTec folded up in the front seat of my patrol car in my patrol bag, loaded with a 20 round P226 magazine.

I also have a 2nd gen Glock 19 version.

Pretty cool guns, and pretty capable too.

gonerydin - Great photo and you have just cost me some money once this disaster is over … and if I survive :(

But ... but, wait - isn’t your red dot mounted on the bottom??

Good eye. That sight has quick detach mount. It’s situated so just for storage. Only takes a sec to switch it.
You’re gonna be fine. I just spent $52,000 on a new Tacoma. [emoji28]

I have the second generation Sub2000 that takes Glock mags. It stays in my truck on the passenger seat under a towel when I'm out of the house. Which isn't often these days.

I have a version 1 in 9mm that uses Glock magazines. It is fun to shoot and easy to handle and very accurate. I am considering sending mine in for the upgrade to V2. I also had but recently sold my 40SW version.

I had a version 2 set up for Glock mags. I put a bunch of money in it to fix the gritty trigger and replacing some of the plastic parts, etc. It seemed to shoot fine but I sold it as I could not get a good site picture given the layout of the stock and the sites. I picked up a Ruger PCC in 9mm and highly recommend it.
