I understand the current climate makes it more difficult but would appreciate some feedback on pricing for a used 556 complete Aero upper. I found one local and the guy is asking 600 but willing to negotiate. I think I can get it for 500-525.

Specs are:

400-500 round count, very good to excellent condition
Optic ready 12” Mlok hand guard, no sights
16” basic nitride barrel
Mid length gas
Pretty good auto style bcg
Basic Milspec charging handle
Said he’d through in two NIB mag pull 30 round mags

Thoughts on fair pricing?

Did you check Brownells? They had lots of uppers on sale during Black Friday.

$500 doesn’t seem outrageous to me, working on the assumption this is a 5.56. Basically ARs are commodity these days but the value sits in decent parts and decent assembly.

AP is on my list of second tier non-Milspec builders/suppliers, but when I say second tier, that is not a negative. Knights (KAC and Hodge) are first tier at $2000/upper. I have Milspec LMT, Colt and BCM uppers but do not confuse Milspec with what most people want or need. I will almost certainly never buy Milspec again.

Might want to check with AP if they will still warranty for a second owner.
