For CZ Rifle Fans

I am a fan of CZ's Mauser type rifles, and own 3, now 4. I was at a small local dealers shop when I noticed this CZ 527 FS in .223 Remington on the bare shelves. They have not made that FS gun since 2018. I asked, and he said it was in an stack of what he thought were empty boxes, so he just put it on the rack that morning.

I am a big fan of Mannlicher stocked rifles, so.....

Very well finished, smooth action, nice set trigger, and nice wood (pics don't do it justice). Mounted a 1x6 Vortex scope in Warne rings. Took it to the range with just 55 grain ball to sight it in, and was getting 5 shot 1 1/2 inch groups. I expect it will do better with tailored loads.

Very nice rifle. I have a 452 that I bought at one of our club swap meets. I mounted a Leupold 2X7 on it and am really surprised at the tiny groups I am getting at 50 yards. It has that European hump back stock which I don’t particularly care for but it is growing on me.

I've got a CZ 455 FS, the .22 with a Mannlicher stock. Have a Leupold rimfire scope on it. I don't recall the wood as being as nice as yours though.

Haven't seen it in five years as it's been in storage in Hawaii, but hoping to be reunited in a month or so.

I had a CZ 550 American Safari rifle in .416 Rigby with the European hump-style stock. I loved it; gorgeous machine. Yes, yes, it was a thumper; rocked my world but fun! Then I tore my rotator cuff in my martial arts class and that rifle was the first thing to go. I can still shoot 12 gauge shotguns, my .35 Whelen customized Mauser, and my .375 Winchester Model 94. All of them definitely leave memories for a day or three after use. But I figured the .416 was going to leave more than a couple of days of memories so I dispensed with temptation.

CZs are magnificent rifles and in .223 I bet that's a pleasure to shoot!

My CZ527FS...223...is one of my more cherished rifles....one that my inlaws will have to fight over after I pass....along with my CZ452FS....22....both are works of art in metal and walnut...

That’s a beautiful rifle. The scope and mounts sure don’t go with it, however. I’d want some low rings and a Leupold compact scope.

SWEEeeeeet...... one of my favorite rifles for walking in Penn's woods
The 527 action is sized just right for the .223/5.56 which CZ says you can use either.

I also have CZ FS/mannlicher's 452s in .22lr and .22mag ......

All have little 1-4x20 Leupold scopes..... great for the small fields and woods of the Laurel Highlands.

IMO CZ rifles are about the best bang for the buck going!!

Nice looking gun, I like the Mannlicher stocked guns also. Found the twin to yours last October with the set trigger also. The last thing I needed was another rifle but the price was good. Haven’t shot mine yet, the outside range is 1 hour away. Enjoy, Larry

Beautiful rifle!!! I have two 527's, one in 7.62x39 and the other in 223. I love mine and I think that you'll love yours as well.

Neither of mine is a full stock.

You may or not be aware that the 'hog back' stock is designed to be used with the iron sights (Which are some of the best I've ever used), and the straight comb stocks like the American were designed for scope use.

The beauty of it all is, the 452 action, bbl and all will drop right in with zero modifications. They aren't exactly cheap though.

I love my CZ 550 Varmint Kevlar in .308WIN. Consistent 1/2 MOA with Federal Gold Metal 168gr Sierra Matchking Boat-tail Hollow-points when using the set trigger. It may not be a looker like the Mannlicher, but it gets the job done.

I agree, it does not fit the lines of the rifle. That Vortex Strike Eagle 30mm scope is primarily designed to be mounted on an AR. It was the only scope I had kicking around that was available. It needs high rings do to it's large Ocular Bell diameter and limited bolt handle clearance. I see a compact low power 1 inch Leupold in its future.

Besides this 527FS, I also have a 550 in 375H&H, a 452 in .22lr, and another 527 in .204 with the heavy barrel. CZ makes a nice rifle, and they kind of remind me of a European version of the pre-64 Winchester model 70.

Check out the 1-4x20 Leupold for the FS..... very European look .... there might also be a 1.5-5 x20????????

I am glad you understand. It was not my intent to offend you. I see so many guys buy a svelte rifle and mount a hubble telescope on it, it makes me cringe.

Yeah I'm a fan. I have a 527 MTR varmint in 223, and two 452's a super BRNO and a lux, a 455, and also a Mannlicher. I'm always on the lookout for my next one. CZ's are a hard habit to break.

I dont know of anyone else making factory blued, walnut, iron-sight rifles with detachable mags and set triggers.
So, at least they are totally unique in 2021.
It doesnt hurt that they are excellent quality.
