I want to mention that I just posted some pictures of Krags and accessories from my collection in the Pictures & Albums section of the forum - there is a clickable link to that section above. Unfortunately, the very rare Model 1892 Krag is not in my collection, but a photo of one is included for continuity.

Hope you will enjoy the depictions and descriptions.

I really enjoyed your Krag collection photo gallery. Very sharp looking rifles. Love the Bowie. You don't have a school rifle in it though. I lucked into a nice unmolested 1899 school rifle some 5 years ago. And then at the last Baltimore Military show in 2019 I found a nice 1896 rifle that was so wrapped up in cosmoline the seller had it listed as an 1898 because couldn't read the numbers. Even had a cleaning kit in the butt. Couldn't swing a $$ Bowie so I built my own out of a 1917 bolo that was in rough shape. Missing scales and guard. Krags are very nice pieces of US military history.

Thanks for the pics. Haven't seen one in person,WW II is more in my time period although I have had a couple of older Mausers.

Just got to love Krags and the two above look to be exceptional examples. My 1898 infantry rifle is one of my best cast bullet shooters with the Lyman 311299 or the Lyman 311334. I size both to .311" and it holds 1 1/2 MOA to 2 MOA out to 200 yards with the cast bullets.

I have a '96 saddle ring carbine. It came to me with a rifle rear sight. :-(
It cost almost as much to source a correct carbine rear sight as I paid for the carbine, but now it's 'correct'.
Great shooters!
