Wanting leather, I used a Don Hume
H721 for the S&W model 39, After I
got the holster I sprayed the BM down
with Dillon case lube because the lube
is lanolin acts as a good rust inhibitor.

I then wrapped the BM in Costco's
brand of Saran Wrap. Then the holster
was sprayed down with 90% isopropyl
alcohol and put the BM in it. I put that
in the warmest room in the house for
a couple days and let the leather dry.

Polished up the holster, cleaned off the
lanolin and the rig was done.

serger, did the snap fit tightly after your "sizing" the holster? I took a Bianchi made for a S&W 39, but the snap was way too loose. I had a local cowboy kid put another snap, a tad lower, and it works fine. The problem being is it is somewhat difficult to align the snap while wearing the holster. I like the holster you gave the link to, wish it were basket weave, but fits the bill nicely. Thank you.

The snap is a little loose and I can
move the pistol up and down in the
holster about a quarter of an inch
if I try.

However, the leather's so stiff
when I first snapped the snap I
caused a crack on the surface.
It's about 5/16" long. Doesn't
affect anything or go anywhere
but bothers me because I know
it's there.

Another thing about stiff leather,
the pistol is just now getting to
the point, a couple years later, it
doesn't have resistance to taking
it from the holster it had.

My holster is basket weave. I'll
try to get a pic and post it.

Hope this information is helpful.

serger, that really looks nice. I have a few Rodek Leather made holsters that look very similar in color and basket weave. I had him make me a m39 smith holster, but the snap is too loose, but on the other hand, my 45 acp fits it nicely.

Thank you.
It's a second and so marked on the back.
There is a small smudge of black die in
the lower right quadrant, the only flaw.
You have to hold it just right to see that.

When I got it, with shipping it was only
$31.00. I'm very pleased with it.
