I know that I do, also a Taurus, but quite a bit larger...

The Taurus Judge Magnum, pictured alongside my Buck 120 for scale.

I have quite a few Big Bore Taurus snubs.

I have a pair of 41 Magnums, one built in stainless and one Total Titanium

But the really fun one is the 2" Total Titanium chambered in 45 Long Colt.
This 450T is finished in a darker Shadow Gray and certainly has a mean look to it when loaded with the Barnes solid copper Hollow Point ammunition

Smith & Wesson still has the Grand Daddy of all snubbies. The 500ES

When loaded with 700 grain wadcutters, emptying this revolver sends 1/2 pound of lead down range at over 1200 FPS

I had a NIB stainless 431 I found a few years back. It was wearing target stocks and I couldn't find any suitable magnas for it anywhere. I ended up selling it to a guy at work.

Your 431 wearing those magnas is the cats meow. They are solid guns. My buddy at work tells me he never fired the 431 and asks me occasionally if I want it back. If I could find a set of stocks like yours is wearing, I would.

Very nice find.

It took me about a year on GB to find this one. I bid on couple of others before, but they were getting above $800 in the bidding!

I love BBBG's (Big Bore Belly Guns) I am a firm believer in the power of 4! As Bill Jorden (I think) said "If it doesn't start with a 4, it isn't a gun!"

I had an 80's something Taurus in 44 Special with adjustable sights. I lightened the main spring and it was smooth! But after decades of full power practice, it was in need of replacement. So a couple of Summers ago I traded it in on a...

629-6 2 9/16" Performance Center 44 Magnums. The new asking price was over $200 less than Cabela's and my trade-in made it very affordable. BTW, The Taurus was sold in 5 minutes with one phone call!

With 240 grain Factory ammo, the upper horn on the finger groove grips removes several layers of skin at the base of my thumb. But the accuracy is far better than the Taurus with Winchester STHP's. My ungloved carry load is a 240 SWC over 11 grains of Unique in 44 mag cases. It is more than a Special, so I call it 44 Mag light. At 25 yards, 6 slow fire shots are in a human hart sized group!

This gun is just a fun toy to me, I have 2 serious 44 mags for hunting; a 8 3/8's 29 Classic and a T/C Super 14 that is ported.

For EDC I don't carry a real gun, just a 49 no dash with Short Barrel Gold Dots. Some times I add a 3.25" 45 to the loadout. But, If I need a gun and I have a choice, it will be a long gun!

I have a 431 also and it is smooth and reliable. Was an improvement over my CA Bulldog. When I found my 696 no dash I though it would be a step up. But the holes in the paper didn't get any closer together. Taurus can make a nice gun from time to time.

Only counting calibers starting with a 4, I have 3
Jovino Terminator
CA Bulldog
Taurus 445 (no photos yet)

When comparing a 2" or 3" N-frame with a 4" N-frame, there is far less difference because of barrel length alone than many seem to realize. These guns have large frames and that's where the bulk is, not in an extra inch or even two inches of barrel length.

These are more of a novelty revolver than anything truly more useful than a 4"-barrleled version, but the snub noses may have eye appeal that the 4" revolvers lack and that's worth a lot to some. Depending on a shooter's skill level, the shorter-barreled guns may be more difficult to shoot well.

Now you know I LOVE Big Bore revolvers as I have a S&W 625 JM .45 ACP 4" revolver! If I had the cash now I would have a S&W 629 Performance Center 2.6". I wish they had made it a 3" but then what can you do as the manufacturer determines what they offer and the next size up is a six inch.

I would not be using it for full house magnum loads most of the time unless I was hiking in bear country. I have extensive experience shooting full .44 Magnum ammo and I don't mind it. It bothers me less than shooting full .357 Magnum loads for some reason.

If 3" counts as a snubbie big bore, I currently have three, and I think I've had a couple of others.

I have a Taurus 445UL in my pocket right now.

I have a couple of three inch model 29-4s that I am pretty fond of.

They will definitely get your attention on both ends.

I have the Total Titanium in 41 Magnum also - brutal. Had a difficult time finding smaller grips and ended up buying some wooden boot types out of Thailand IIRC. Even more brutal.

I know Taurus gets a bad rap, sometimes deserved. If they beefed up their springs and things like cylinder bolt, hand and did better on QC - heck, I'd buy more.

Really like the 44 special 696, but the only big bore snub i ever carried was a Taurus 44 special ul. Not a lot of fun, but tolerable with 200 gdhps at speed. Found some of the rubber compact grips, and a Theis hybrid iwb holster.
