Besides the Marlin magazines these use S&W 59 series magazines I believe. Is there such a thing as a reliable aftermarket magazine for these guns. What round count are the S&W magazines? I have never owned a Smith Semi-Auto.
Warning......Never attempt to disassemble that rifle.
DO ELABORATE! I was just about to research how to do so. I got a couple of FtF's off of a new, quality 659 magazine.
Just curious, but how come?Warning......Never attempt to disassemble that rifle.

Gotcha. I see that others posted the same info even before I asked the question. I probably should have read all the posts before asking a redundant question.I believe he is referring to taking the fire control housing apart. It can be a faith testing exercise getting all the parts, post, pins and springs aligned and held together at the same time.
If I remember correctly to replace the buffer you just have to do a basic field strip of the action from the stock and trigger housing and I wouldn't go any further without some what better than basic skills.
If you are just going to take the rifle apart for cleaning t is very easy.
BTW Boyds sells an excellent laminated stock for these guns.
