AH Fox shotgun

An original straight grip Fox is a rare find. If you PM me the serial number I can look up the build card for it. Thats a nice gun and a very good price.

I shoot RST 2 1/2 inch shells or load the equivalent in all my vintage SXS's. The gun can withstand modern shells with 1 1/8 oz of shot at 1200 +/- FPS but remember the wood is crowding 90 years old.

I’ll never try to make a 3” magnum out of it. Like me, she’s of an age that requires tenderness so I’ll treat her as such.
There’s a Smith near me that works on high end shotguns. I notice a small crack where the stock joins the receiver so thought I’d take it to him and see what he suggests. I don’t want the crack to progress any farther.

Thats a good idea. I shoot all old SXS, Fox, Parker and some English guns especially hammer guns. In most gauges I've gone to 3/4oz loads, they will break targets and kill birds just as well as heavier loads if you do your part.
