If you got the new American Rifleman and noticed the new SA 35 on the cover and thought like I did WOW msrp price 699! I found one on Guns America the price was 1299!!! I don't believe I will be getting one I'm way to old. Jeff

Scalpers hopefully won't get too far. You can get a Browning for less.....

Most of the dealers are going to set the price way above MSRP for a long time. The same thing happened to Colt Pythons and Anacondas. You still can't buy either one for MSRP. Might be a few years before that happens.
I'll wait. No sense in giving a dealer a 25% markup when eventually they will be selling below MSRP.

There are reports of the SA-35 having extraction and other assorted issues. It's better to wait, not just for the bugs to be worked out but also for the price scalpers to go hungry.

Don't understand the SA35 having problems, when everything that can be known about a Hi Power IS known and has been for many years......

I’ve heard this also regarding ejector/extractor springs.

What the heck? I looked at my post above and its making like this is the first post I've made in 5 years of being a member?

You would think that, but when a company introduces a new product they've never made before all sorts of little gremlins can pop up. All it takes is failing to adhere to a tolerance here or a heat-treating spec there and the whole operation goes to pot.

I'm curious where as well.

And I'm hoping you didn't have to pay by Venmo or another 'odd' method?

There's some strange websites out there that claim to have a firearm for sale when none are showing up on the major dealers websites. If my local dealer can't find one then I would say you might have been bamboozled. Just a guess.

Definitely not bamboozled by these folks. They are a lot of things, but disreputable isnt one of them. This will be my 25th gun from them.

3 thoughts: Browning Hi-power is a well proven design
Any semi- auto is subject to the quality of ammo run through
it
All new handguns need a break in period to wear in and
function optimally
So, too soon to tell if there are design?manufacturing problems cropping up

FWIW, there is a semi weekly newsletter , “ The Tactical Wire” published by former LEO’s/ shooters, one did a 3 part review of new P-35. As mentioned there were extraction issues but quickly fixed with Wolfe Spring kit. I will wait a year? or so to look for one too. Most likely hard to find ammo for it regardless.

They’re good people at KTP, and a great store/gun store... Love their used gun selection, especially the hunting rifles and shotguns.

That said, I’ve noticed a few shady online gun dealer sites, that definitely look like scams. These days you can tell they’re a scam site because they have every gun available to purchase, and at good prices prices! They usually don’t have contact address and/or phone, business hours, don’t do traditional credit cards, etc. People need to be careful out there!

I’m interested in one of these new Hi Powers, but will wait for reality pricing locally. Squid, glad you are getting yours. Range report soon...?

I hope, for fans, that SA35 turns out to be a winner. But for the current auction prices, IMHO, it would make more sense to find a really nice FEG for the same $, or spend a few hundred more for a nice example of the "real deal".

Not hard to find 9mm around here, but at 20 bucks a box for ball, I'll wait a while.
